  1. I just don't know why NU didn't run more - designed Basanez runs and Sutton runs. Especially as they built their Olson-induced first quarter lead. They could have blown away UCLA had they run more in the first half. I was also shocked that a walk-on place kicker who wasn't even on the team against USC outplayed NU's kicker. When UCLA got the ball, down 22-7, I new they were going to win (the same way I knew they would win when they were down 24-10 against Stanford). They had regained their swagger after the first scoring drive and knew the run couldn't be stopped. And when the defense needed to step up and get turnovers, it was the two senior leaders Spencer Havner and Jarrod Page. We're gonna miss them. On a side note, Chris Markey lost his house and some family members to Katrina (he's a Louisiana boy) and had an injury-plagued season. Nice to see him get co-MVP after a tough few months, couldn't happen to a nicer guy. P.S. Watching games at Las Vegas' New York, New York is awesome. You can see the game in HD even when you go to the restroom! Sorry, Jon.
  2. That was a stupid pass from Brady Leaf last night against Oklahoma, I was hoping Belotti would have gone conservative and gone for the tie because I just don't trust Leaf. They were driving because of swing and screen passes, not Leaf's throws downfield. Oregon would have blown away Oklahoma if Clemens was healthy. Oh well, if USC wins, the Pac-10 goes 4-1.
  3. The problem is the Cubs don't have anybody more promising than Kelton ready to take 460 ABs in a corner OF spot in Iowa. Who do they have slated for the OF? Greenberg, Sing, Bacon, Creighton & Montanez ended last year at AA. So probably some mix of them, though not sure if Montanez will be in AAA. And hopefully Pie will be at AAA.
  4. that would rid us of UCLA too!! Two for one! A nuke with a 5-mile radius in damage would be perfect. Would get rid of Staples too, hopefully Kobe is in there playing.
  5. Ahh the good ol' days. That was the greatest game ever. I believe the Cubs lost, but I have never watched any sporting event with less emotion. It was fun. Yeah, that was a blast. Plz don't get hurt on that evil turf, Rex.
  6. You called? Good game. :) EDIT: I have never been more impressed with UCLA's offensive line. They were just doing what they wanted with NU's DL like USC did to our DL earlier this month.
  7. Just drop a nuke on that POS school.
  8. I think I peed a little from laughing so hard. Thanks I needed that. Good to see you around, sir. I hope that was sarcasm. Maybe... I meant AramisRamirez' post.

  10. Hairston's only averaging 15 a game. He's still a legitimate NBA prospect and I wouldn't be shocked to see him averaging 18-20 by season's end. He's an incredible talent. He hasn't impressed me that much. Of course, I'm VERY biased. The kid is shooting 55 percent from the floor as a 2 guard. That is very impressive by any standards. Averaged over 50 percent last year as well. I'm shocked he isn't shooting more for that team. He will though, and he's good enough to get them into the tourney in a very weak Pac 10. I only saw part of one game this season of his, he didn't impress me much against UCLA or Washington last year (yes, small sample size). He has all the attributes to be a lottery pick.
  11. That was an entertaining game. I'll call it now itself. Cal will be the first team to beat USC next year (ND will be the other). EDIT: As long as Nate Longshore is actually healthy next season.

  13. By the way, go Brandon Ayanbadejo! Way to represent UCLA. :D
  14. Stand in line, I've been wishing injury on him since his freshman year. That is hilarious, though.
  15. Marshawn Lynch and DeSean Jackson (rawaction!) are good. Very good.
  16. Yeah, I was watching the game at work and had to do some stuff with the Bulls up 10 with seconds left in the 3rd quarter. I come back to see them down 8.
  17. Yikes! UCLA barely beats Wagner by 2 at Pauley. :? And USC beats ranked North Carolina, after looking really bad all season (even during the previous 7 wins in their 8-game win streak).
  18. Desmond Clark? Marcedes would look good in a Bears uni (too bad he'll long be gone by the time the Bears draft).
  19. I agree, plug the money with guys who fall in the draft too (and sign them). The farm has slipped big time since the 2003 run and the Cubs have been diverting fewer and fewer resources to the farm system. The Cubs need to turn that around.
  20. So yeah, Stanford is below .500 two weeks after Arizona was. And Stanford's losses were to the likes of UCI, UCD, Montana and Virginia Tech. Looks like it will be a two team conference between U-Dub and UCLA. I think Cal (as long as Powe remains healthy) and Arizona will battle for third place in the Pac-10. By the way, at USC's last home game, there were 2 people in the student section.
  21. Safe to say the Cubs and the Cards. But the Cards are still better than us. Not Head to head in 05', the Cubs dominated the Cards taking the season series 10-6. But head-to-head record against one team in the division won't necessarily win the Central for the Cubs. The Cardinals are more likely to win the Central than the Cubs, despite their poor offseason.
  22. Those big plays have gone down in the past few weeks and he's going up against the opponents' #1 WR every week.
  23. 13. With the lack of picks from rounds 2-4, it'd be nice if the Cubs turned that round 2-4 signing bonus money into a nice Latin American player. And it'd be even nicer if the Cubs properly returned to the international scene. Zambrano, Guzman, Pie, Cedeno, Pinto, Choi, Ryu were/are all valuable assets to the franchise.
