Kyle, you bring up some decent points (although I'd like to see how your specific age range was settled upon) However, in the instance of Brown, we know the asset we are talking about giving up is a 37 year old LF with leg problems. And a year ago, his value was no where near this. We could also save 10M that could still go elsewhere. Its an interesting proposal at the very least. Not a slam dunk by any means, though at this point it looks like it probably won't go down, so we should move along and hope Jed gives us an actual deal to discuss. Florida probably has the best resume of any sec team, Bama included But Georgia and Bama are ranked ahead of them at the moment. I guess I'm just basing my perception strictly on the rankings. But it seems the better teams are punished. If both trams play Bama and both lose are they still 3-4? Is it possible GA makes it competitive enough even in a loss that they edge FL since FL didn't do anything to jump that spot other than not being good enough to make the championship? Now subjectively you can probably argue for Florida, but objectively they will benefit by not being good enough to make their championship game, while of the two teams good enough to make it, one will be punished. Also Oregon gets this same benefit now that I think of it. Just wait out whichever SEC team gets bumped. Can't lose position and even if they were in the title game, winning probably doesn't do much. Just odd that a bunch of games involving likely playoff opponents would bump teams from the field while teams at home make it in. The SEC title game is like a play-in to get into the actual (hypothetical) playoffs except instead of the two lesser teams fightly for the chance to play the better team its flipped. I'm gonna expand the NBA playoffs to 9 teams and the 2 and 3 seed will play eachother to see who gets to play the 8 seed in round 1. Ugh, I guess Floyd. Does Jackson even get touches anymore? Also, I was leaning RG3 over Ryan. Believe it or not, I haven't started RG3 over Ryan once this year. Last week, RG3 outscored him like 32 to 3. RG3 has a 6 point edge this season overall. Why Ryan? Fred Jackson does get touches he was just hurt. How can a Mizzou guy think that the Big 12 will survive a megaconference scenario? Just playing around with scenarios, its definitely hard to see a true mega-conference scenario (four 16 school conferences) with the Big 12 still in existence. They'd have to add six major programs to get to 16- maybe with a pseudo ACC merger. So I guess if the Big Ten and SEC each raid an ACC school, it could happen. Although if the Pac gets involved in expansion its almost sure to poach at least two of Texas/TT/Ok/OkSt from the Big 12. So that's where a mega-conference scenario with the Big 12 in existence really starts to fall apart.

These young available players cost more than money. Not that you cant go after those guys, but at most likely its just reallocating existing resources. Filling 2-3 rotation spots and getting just average performance from CF and bullpen gets us with an outside chance. Ultimately it depends on development of younger guys.
