    Will Wood have a final option year next year? I'm fine with him as the 5th starter, but if you can find enough room for 6 starters I think you can even keep him in Iowa.     It's a decent offer. Have you had any back and forth with the other owner? I'd start with a lower offer, but if it came to it, I'd pull the trigger on that. I think there's a pretty good chance Johnson rakes from here on out. He's still getting a lot of targets, the TDs just haven't come.

    They traded for a dead guy a couple years ago. It's a good example, but I don't think it was quite at the deadline. IIRC it was during week 5...the Bears were 3-1 and on a bye week before playing in Atlanta. But close enough. Deadline was earlier then though. Used to be week 6.     He was Jim Hendry's right hand man and there has never been any indication as to what he does well. So therefore, he must be bad at his job. The only grounds you use to assert this is that he worked under someone you didn't like. Great logic you have there. That's a pretty stupid statement. I questioned what he does well. I've never heard anything good about him. Nobody has ever made any sort of statement about what value he brings to the organization. I don't see it, and I'd like to know what it is. I don't just assume that middle management types in sports are great at what they do. I'm not sure why anybody would. You apparently assume they're bad at what they do. Far more reasonable. The close association and approval of Jim Hendry means it's not a baseless assumption. Maybe Bush is great but all I know about him is Hendry seemed to value him, which gives me some concerns. Concerns that are alleviated quite a bit by Theo keeping him. Maybe he embraced the new way of thinking and picked it up quickly. But anyways I guess O'Neill is the move talked about?     I'm not a big Lloyd fan either but somehow the guy had nearly 2,500 receining yards and around 15 TD's in the last two seasons. It was hard for me to get past him being a WR who couldn't even get PT on the Bears, but theres something McDaniels has gotten out of him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I think you got it right with the better player on the better offense. BUT, Lloyd plays the afternoon game. I would watch his situation closely and be prepared to start Wright if you have doubt.... The late game is a good point. Luckily i have Burleson to use on Monday if Lloyds status is unclear at noon. I think he will play, but also concerned about performance dropping off. Now also Bradshaw is questionable, so I'm just going to have to watch all the morning shows to make a handful of decisions at noon. I hate weeks like this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Brandon Lloyd vs NYJ or Kendall Wright vs Buf. My head tells me to just stick with the better player on the better offense. But I keep questioning it because Lloyd is a little banged up and the Jets are #1 against fantasy WR while Buf is 28th. Ans their targets are quite compareable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I'm talking about the swap of a LFer coming off a surprisingly good year for a 3B coming off a year that is going to drag down his perceived value. The Cubs are desperate for 3B help, but can more easily acquire OF help. Also, Soriano's value is being good. Being good and being a veteran isn't an additional value. Reed Johnson got credit for being a gritty vet, it's the same damn thing that doesn't help the team at all in reality, but rather makes fans feel better about how horrible they are. Being gritty sure doesn't make feel better about sucking. Anyone can try hard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Less and less value as guys like Castro and Rizzo hopefully become the leaders of the clubhouse, but there is some value in having a steady veteran who can show young players how to prepare and deal with the nuances of major league baseball. Now the caveat is they have to be able to play, otherwise they're just a coach. Luckily Soriano more than covered that this year. There is no assigned value in that, given that any veteran can do the same damn thing. Can any damn veteran do it while being good at baseball? We're not talking about Soriano for a clear upgrade.     There's a good chance this job won't come open again for quite a while, so if you want Kerry in there, now is the time. I don't see the risk in throwing him into the fire. What's he gonna do?     Under the inital proposal where each team basically pays the original salaries it has some merit since you could put Arod at 3B. If the cash was neutral, the added years don't matter. I'm highly skeptical something like that is even possible, or even close. But also there are two no trade clauses, and for what is worth Soriano has come to be a veteran leader in the clubhouse. It also has much more merit if you have an upgrade on the table for LF via trade or FA. If we're just swapping holes (3B for LF) I'd rather go with the Valbuena/Stewart hole than the Sappelt/LaHair/Jackson hole. Overall too many things have to fall into place to make this anything more than an exercise in measuring Soriano's value in the trade market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    From the stuff I'm reading season tickets are actually goong up, and those are guaranteed sales. The biggest drop is in the bleachers where the average atendee will buy his ticket price in beer sales, but you have to get them to the park. And the team will expand on dynamic pricing which basically prices will move with inventory levels. There's really little to see here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
