I would stand outside Wrigley Field with tears of joy streaming down my face and hug everyone that walked by if the Cubs added Adam Dunn to their lineup. However, I don't see that happening, at least unless Mark Cuban is the owner come this off-season. Instead, I think Raul Ibanez would be a nice addition. Like JeffH said, it could, in the event that the Cubs reach the World Series, eliminate a potential advantage that the opposing AL team would have in their home park. He's not an enormous upgrade over what we have, but if Edmonds is gone for any significant stretch, it could hurt. I also wouldn't be too upset cutting ties with Daryle Ward, as I think Fontenot can be considered a more-than-adequate left-handed bat off the bench, and whoever is not starting out of Ibanez, Edmonds, and Fukudome on a particular day could also be counted on as solid bench bats. Of course, I'm not willing to sell the farm for Ibanez, but if he could be had for relatively cheap, and possibly net us a compensation pick in the off-season to partially offset what we'd give up, I think this could be a good idea.
