  1. Well, he won the 2022 WS with 2 different teams. I guess it's just part of being the greatest player of all time. haha, it must have been updated, because now almora is sticking with the cubs until 2024.
  2. ??? Meaning they were/are going to add old(er) veterans, presumably proven players, before his injury made him a relative unknown? I'm thinking old should have been Olt?
  3. I don't normally wish injury on players, but I kind of hope his arm falls off now just to screw the Tigers for signing him. What the hell? Why? What did Sanchez, his agent or the Tigers do wrong in this situation?
  4. I don't know how to feel about this. He still seems incredibly raw, but I don't think the national ratings have caught up with his supposed breakout summer and growth spurt. Is he a good enough player for Illinois to have given him their only '14 scholarship? Hoops report has him as the fourth best kid in Illinois now, ahead of two top 60 kids. I think once the list updates he will be top 100. Telep and ESPN have him as a four star. Rivals has him as a three star and Scout has him as a two star. I'm thinking these two (or at least Scout) have not updated their ratings. I like what I've read about him. It sounds like he has a real good three-point stroke, but he really needs to add some weight. And yeah, from the way the Illinois beat writers are talking, it's a near certainty that at least one more scholarship opens up for 2014.
  5. 8) Villanueva 9) Maples 10) Underwood

  7. the twitter buzz surrounding Illinois right now is a lot of fun.
  8. Brandon Paul played out of his mind. What a great game. Well, aside from Egwu embarrassing himself all over the place.
  9. 6. Paniagua 7. Villanueva 8. Jackson
  10. Aka a Friday evening for Kevin Love. Minus the assists, maybe.
  11. 2 years, $15 million. I would've taken a chance on McCarthy at 2/15.
  12. There's no comparison between Soriano's defense and Viciedo's, regardless of season. Soriano is worlds better.
  13. I'd love to be wrong, but I just think Gonzaga is going to be able to outscore UI. Foul problems could become trouble for Abrams/Egwu in a tough environment too. I list them because they're backups suck and UI needs them. egwu is the one that sucks He's a big man who's not even halfway through his sophomore year, he's got a lot of time. He needs to get to the foul line more and be more physical rebounding, but he's certainly taking a back seat to a Senior class playing very well right now (Griffey, Paul, Richardson...even McLaurin a bit maybe). Other than Paul he's still the only player on the team that has a shot at the NBA. Big guys take longer to develop, you know this. He will be fine. I like Egwu's potential and I think he's going to be fine eventually, but I don't understand how in the hell a guy his size gets stuffed as often as he does.
  14. only two walks surrendered in the past two years! Of course he only pitched 10 innings in those 2 years. http://images.wikia.com/uncyclopedia/images/1/13/Thats_the_joke.jpg
  15. 5) Vogelbach 6) Paniagua 7) Villanueva
  16. Brutal. Glad I didn't see any of this one. There have been a few ugly wins so far this season that they probably wouldn't have won in previous seasons. I'm worried Gonzaga's size is going to be a nightmare for this team on Saturday.
  17. Somehow I can't believe Farnsworth is only 36.
  18. Does anyone know of a good site to buy NFL jerseys on the cheap? Like a few others mentioned in this thread, it might be time to pick up a Tillman jersey.
  19. Unfortunately, I agree with this. The Celtics are very deep this year, and I can't see the Bulls finishing with a better record than them. Obviously everything depends on when Rose comes back and how well he recovers, but I really don't see them finishing ahead of Indiana or New Jersey either. If I had to guess, I see the Bulls as the sixth seed.
  20. Taj is a really nice player to have and Boozer has been pretty disappointing with the Bulls, but no matter how I slice it, I really can't find anything to back up the idea that Taj is a better player than Boozer. Pretty much this. Except I haven't been disappointed in Boozer all that much other than that goofy off court injury he had in 2010. At a glance, his numbers have dipped ever so slightly with the Bulls, but not enough to merit the level of criticism I've seen. He doesn't seem to go as strong to the basket as he did when he was with the Jazz, but he's got a good enough touch from a few feet out that he's still been a pretty valuable offensive player.

  22. They traded for a dead guy a couple years ago. It's a good example, but I don't think it was quite at the deadline. IIRC it was during week 5...the Bears were 3-1 and on a bye week before playing in Atlanta. But close enough. It was four days prior to the deadline. http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2009Oct16/0,4670,FBNBearsBuccaneersTrade,00.html
  23. That 4-game sweep in Milwaukee in late July was some of the most fun I've ever had watching Cubs baseball.
