    I count 3 not in any system - Rodon, Tanaka and Hoffman. What am I missing? Nothing. Those are the only 3.

    I highly doubt this. And those guys all being top 25 wouldn't be all that surprising. Parks was talking about it as a possibility in June or July. I bet it has, that ranking has a few strange issues. I guess a good way to get an idea would be to see how McDaniel has ranked Soler in the past.     Hasn't he lost quite a bit of weight since he was drafted? I mean he could obviously still stand to lose more, but I don't think motivation to get in shape is an issue.

    everyone outside of buxton has warts, so it really just depends on how he finishes up and what context prospect evaluators put his season in. Taveras - injured most of the year Sano - contact rate, might not be a 3B. Bogaerts - graduated. Lindor - Will be a shortstop, but is a slap hitter Bradley - Too many walks Walker - 1.4 WHIP in AAA Yelich - Graduated. Correa - Hitting the [expletive] out of the ball in a level he's too good for, but confusingly hasn't been promoted. I think Taveras has locked up enough good will to still be #2. Also, depending on what the publication uses for qualifications, Bogaerts could easily still be eligible. Hopefully a publication like BA will rate Correa, Lindor and Sano lower, but who knows. Heck, Callis said he preferred Bryant to Baez just two weeks ago. Parks is on Twitter saying he still likes Sano and Lindor over Baez. I really don't understand how anyone can prefer Lindor over Baez at this point.

    With Bogaerts graduating to the majors, does Baez have a realistic shot at #2 prospect in baseball this offseason. Looking at BP's midseason top 50, I'm not sure there's a prospect aside from Buxton that I'd definitely put ahead of him. Is that going overboard?

    I don't understand all the talk about DeJesus returning to the Cubs next year. I can't imagine the Nationals, who are 9.5 games out of the second wild card spot right now, would have dealt for him if they don't plan to hang onto him next year. Also, why is he being talked about as a bench bat for Washington? He's been worth more WAR than Span in about 60% as many plate appearances.

    The timing does seem kind of odd, but he is under control for next year. Their 2014 starting lineup is basically already set now.

    It's hard to feel sorry for a billionaire who wasn't smart enough to understand how much debt he was taking on while spending tons of money on other things. As for the empty seats, as soon as they put together a roster of players that are worth watching, the seats will be filled again. holy [expletive]. you can't even remember the original point you were trying to make.

    I fully agree. I'm not trying to poop on everyone's parade but I'm not seeing the difference between the admittedly regressing Kennedy and the potential and upwardly trending Samardzija as being worth two top pitching prospects. If the rumors are true, I guess we will find out by the end of the day. I honestly hope I'm wrong. But you think Kennedy is better. I didn't realize that his 2013 was so different than his 2012/2011 seasons. I'll fully admit that I hope I'm wrong but I highly doubt that DBacks trade Kennedy and a top pitching prospect for Samardzija. Yes, Kennedy is not pitching well in 2013. Yes Samardzia is having a better year. Does that satisfy you goony? I don't know why his 2012 season is being grouped in with his 2011 season. Glancing at his last four seasons, 2011 definitely appears to be the outlier, and appears to have been driven by, as Tim said, an unusually high number of fly balls staying in the park.

    Parks says he prefers the return for Peavy, saying Avisail Garcia has a chance to be a stud. What do people like about him? His hit tool? There doesn't seem to be anything really exciting about his power or his patience.
