Wait, why are they picking Smart and Exum? Are we just assuming they have no interest in Wiggins, Embiid, Randle or Parker? His hypothetical has them picking Parker and one of Smart or Exum.

This is not even close to being true.

I remember reading some Santo autobiography when I was around 13 or 14 and he had me absolutely convinced that if Hubbs hadn't died, the Cubs would have won World Series after World Series. Also, this post led me to pull up the 1969 Cubs Fangraphs page and holy [expletive] their top three starters had WARs of 9.1, 7.5 & 5.9.

I know the position player depth in the system isn't any kind of news, but it's pretty nice to see that the eighth ranked position player has a "realistic role" of major league regular. I poked around at a few other top tens and didn't see anything quite like that.

I asked him and he said he only put it that way because KB has a position to come up to, while Javy doesn't. He doesn't know if Olt will be back to normal or not, so he kept him off the list. And just to head things off at the pass, Chris is extremely hard to get an 80 grade out of. I think Hamilton's speed may be the only one currently for him. I'm more curious how KB has a higher present than future grade. With the glove? Guess he figures he's as good as he'll get at 3B currently? My assumption is that he'll get bigger and lose agility/etc. Some of those ETA dates seemed aggressive to me - anyone else think that? Candelario in 2016 Eloy Jimenez in 2017 (just three years - where does he start in this scenario, Kane County?) Frazier in 2016 (wasn't he a HS pick) Frazier is 22 (drafted out of Pepperdine), so that one's not aggressive at all. If Candelario comes up in mid-2016, that gives him 2.5 years to progress through 3 more minor league levels and arrive in the big leagues shortly before turning 23. I don't see anything wrong with either of those projections. The Jiminez one might be a bit aggressive, but I guess it makes sense given how optimistic Crawford is about him in general.

Billingsley is out til at least June with TJS and Josh Beckett sucks Ah, ok, I wasn't sure what the timeline was for Billingsley's return. Still, that's a really impressive five-man rotation.

Loxas can barely string a few words together to form a complete thought. The guy's twitter feed is littered with four-word sentence fragments of unintelligible enigmatic [expletive]. I can't remember an instance in which he actually turned out to be right about something. His tweets are consistently far too vague to provide any value. -
I'm not going to lie, there's a part of me that really dislikes Abrams. He's a good slasher, but he really gets carried away sometimes. It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if Tate started taking more and more of Tracy's minutes. Last night and the Valparaiso games were the only two that I have seen much of so far. Tate wasn't much of a factor in the Valparaiso game, but I felt like last night I got to see a little bit of what everyone else has been saying about him. I was really impressed with his court vision and his decision making. I definitely wouldn't mind him taking some minutes away from Abrams.

heard from someone who is fairly well connected that cliff is pretty much a lock for kansas, but the illinois loyalty insider types still seem confident, so who knows.
