Because he is playing 10ft off the infield. If Pierre was playing LF in Boston he would have as many assists as Manny would have. Ramirez also plays 81 games a year away from Boston. Jones rates as one of the worst RF's. In 2005 his +/- was -4, and his 3 year +/- was -16. Here's what Dewan says: "Jones has good speed and athleticism, but he doesn't always get good jumps on balls and ranks 24th in enhanced plays made. Ironically, his throwing has ranked in the top ten the past two years even though he doesn't have a typical right field arm." -
I can't bring myself to root for the Huskers. Plus, the game doesn't really impact Mizzou's bowl implications. Looks like the Insight or Sun bowl for us.

Someone without an accurate arm would have a difficult time racking up as many assists as Manny does. From The Fielding Bible: "His arm is quite good, generally accurate, and he reads the ball extremely well off the Green Monster. He led the American League in baserunner kills in 2005, with 13." -

Pena doesnt hit lefties very well. Last year is an anomaly compared to the rest of his career, which has a pretty favorable platoon split.

After the All-Star break, Hill was 6th in the NL in ERA, 7th in K/9, 10th in K/BB, 4th in WHIP, and 4th in OPS against. It was more than just a few good starts, Hill was a genuine ace in the second half.

It's okay, I wanted kU to pull it out too, partially because I too am a member of the faction that wants to smack Noah across the face. Donovan I'm not a fan of either, but at least I have 2000.

Looks like U of I really used their size well, with Carter and Pruitt combining for 33 points and 17 boards.

i had to watch on gamecast. womdered what happened there. we had to keep the ball out of daniel's hadns to win, and we didn't. he just owned us. our dumb penalties didn't help. congrats. Thanks. You guys have a stud there in Cornish. Your QB(s) were unimpressive though, don't know what the deal was there. Did you ever see a replay of what happened with that offsetting personal foul? I was looking back for flags when it happened and only saw Perry get body slammed, I couldn't figure out how he committed a personal foul, and how the officials didn't have the common sense to make them dead ball fouls. We did a good job of bouncing back though, it was a good day. Louisville fumbles away to Pitt, who just threw an end-around pass to take the lead. ETA: Which reminds me, the reverse with a flea flicker on the end may be my favorite offensive play of the season. Kudos for opening up the playbook, Pinkel.

I just don't get why those who subscribe to the new way of baseball thinking have such a hard time conveying their message. wait...yes I do. Yes, because personal insults is the way to get YOUR point across. No offense. But your first response to me could be viewed as a tongue in cheek "mockery" insult. And I think that's his point, if not his it's mine. No need to insult people who do not feel the way you do, ok? nevermind that my comment was in no way, shape, or form a personal insult. hahaha, what exactly was it then?

Those statistics aren't very important at all, especially RBI and R which are almost completely worthless. SB has some value, but Soriano gets himself out on the bases so much that he doesn't exactly provide a ton of value with his baserunning.

You think Hawpe's a better player than Soriano? Yes. Hawpe's good. I don't really think he's better than Soriano. They're both pretty good and bring different things to the table. I don't really see why Soriano would necessarily block the cubs from getting Hawpe, unless you were kind of trying to voice some displeasure with the Soriano signing. I'm displeased with the Soriano signing, and practically speaking I don't think Hendry would go out and get a RF after signing Soriano to play RF. He's too much a "player's guy" and would view that as undercutting his word to Soriano that he would play RF, and probably thinks it a smack in the face to Alfonso that he would be the one changing positions.

The numbers don't really bear out SF being a big pitcher's park. Plus, Schmidt doesn't have a lot of variation from home to away. -
They're talking about trading Hawpe? I'd be all over that, but we already paid an exorbitant amount of money for Soriano to play worse than Hawpe.

After seeing Purdue play and what Arkansas has done, I'm really excited for their upcoming matchups with Mizzou. Butler up late on Gonzaga in the NIT championship, but Gonzaga is making a bit of a run.

Hopefully KU beats them. :twisted: While we do have our starting center back (kind of), I wouldn't bet on it. UF is clicking, and we're playing like garbage right now. They've also played a hilariously bad schedule thus far. 308th of 335 To compare, you guys are at 194 (Mizzou is at 160, woot)
