  1. I hope everyone in America agrees with you. And I mean that. That LSU defense is way too fast and strong to get burned very often, and their offense is capable of exposing the Notre Dame defense, especially with a month to prepare.
  2. I realize you're exaggerating but you might be underrating Boise State just a bit. I like Boise State, but OU has been a buzzsaw for about 2 months now. Add in that they have a vast physical/talent advantage and I think it's going to get ugly.
  3. What was the count of our matchup?
  4. Predictions: Florida over OSU by less than a TD LSU over Notre Dame by 2 TDs or more Michigan over USC by a TD or less (on second thought, it's a coin flip with the game in Pasadena) Oklahoma over Boise State by roughly 80 Louisville over Wake Forest by about 10

  6. That honor goes to Kansas State's mascot. They just stick a big wildcat head on a normal guy with a jersey. http://www.cjonline.com/photos/galleries/122901_ksupep/images/01.jpg I messed up on Big Red. I was actually referring to Lil' Red, Nebraska's other mascot. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/98/Lil_red.jpg
  7. The common denominator in Soriano's best seasons are him spending the majority of the time leading off.
  8. I like Big Red, because he deflates his head regularly to entertain the crowd, which I'm sure terrifies many a child.
  9. for Soriano's contract he should clean out urinals and not complain if asked to and IMO it's a complete waste to have him leading off. Well you aren't in charge. This isn't MLB: The Show 06. It is how it is and it should be thought of arround those terms. yes, bend over backwards and let the player control the decisions. now that's the way to run an organization. I seem to recall that bit the Cubs in the ass very recently. these public statements by Hendry about what his plans are, ie. Soriano in the outfield and leading off, DeRosa being his starting secondbaseman, Izturis being his guy at short, etc. should all be taken with more grains of salt than I just spread on my sidewalks and driveway. We should put Soriano in the leadoff spot if we want to maximize production from him. It's pretty clear he performs better there. On Lofton, I'll say that I think there's a lot of downside to signing him. I think a lot of people overestimate the ease in benching Lofton if/when he sucks.
  10. one problem is that players do not always produce at their split levels when platooned. That's true, but I think that there's enough guys who have been in mostly platoon situations(e.g. getting Dellucci and Craig Wilson for a RF tandem) so that problem can be minimized.
  11. BP had a nice article a while ago about the benefit of platoons and how more teams should utilize them.
  12. No it doesn't. But on the other hand I don't like 3 or more loss teams getting a shot at the title either. unless it's a Big East team. I wouldn't want a 3 or more loss Big East team to get a shot either. The problem with the loss thing is that you would have teams playing a Wisconsin or Auburn like out of conference schedule and that is why I want these teams to play at least 2 BCS conference teams minimum. what good does that do? you can always line up Kentucky and KState. that proves nothing more than beating SDSU and Bowling Green. Kentucky and Kansas St are good, there's a difference. Good's a relative term. They're both in the bottom half of their conference, 6th or 7th. And they were both bottom feeders when they were scheduled.
  13. That's cause he was. Must've been fog on the visor since there was no ball there in his hip.
  14. Georgetown up in Cameron early. There's way too many good college events going on right now.
  15. What? Randomly stop the play for no reason?
  16. Wichita State is hammering Syracuse in Syracuse. 29-12 at the 8 minute timeout.
  17. Hmmmm.......if USC couldn't come back, would a convincing win leap-frog Florida over Michigan into the title game? I hope so.
  18. Florida walking over Arkansas, 17-0 now.
  19. It'd be a rematch of a game that was just played.
  20. And if JLS had any ability to rebound from a tough loss at all and MSU had played even close to that well in future games, they'd have won at least three more games and been a strong bowl team. But then again, the devil's in the if's. The loss to Notre Dame didn't have that much to do with John L. Smith. That was almost all Stanton. Michigan State a 7 win team? They only looked pretty good against Eastern Michigan at home. That was about it. They then looked either terrible or bad during every single Big Ten game. Michigan State may have played Notre Dame well, but they were not a decent team by any stretch of the imagination. That's the point. They should have been. If you can play that well against ND, why the hell can't you get it up to play well against Illinois, Indiana, etc? That was my point. Shouldn't an entire Big Ten season of play carry more wieght than three quarters in a non-con game? Of course it should. I'm not saying it doesn't. The point is that Michigan State played well against ND, so to say they barely escaped a "crappy" Michigan State team, while technically true, shadows the fact that the Spartans played well enough to win that game. You can't subject a game to "this team played better than their record for most of it". Then you'd have to subject that to every game, which is ridiculous.
  21. Arizona going on a run, and the crowd is into it, they lead by 2. Foul trouble abound for the Illini, 3 bigs with 4 fouls.
  22. Sammy Mejia can't be stopped right now. 58-53 Depaul, 1:18 left
  23. Well, when you put up the following numbers you are probably going to be classified as a type-a free agent. .300/.349/.518 23 HR 25 2B 70 RBI He had a very good year for the Reds. Free Agent classifications are based on the last 2 seasons. In this case, Aurilia was still not bad in '05, but I thought it was worth pointing out.
  24. DePaul giving Kansas a game up in Chicago. 47-43 kU with 7:30 remaining. DePaul can't hit a free throw to save their lives.
