  1. Wuertz and Ascanio have both been getting torched pretty good in Iowa. Ascanio has given up runs in 7 of his last 10 outings, and Wuertz in 2 of his last 3(including a 3 walk inning). You could add Ceda I guess, but he's given up 3 hits and a walk, 2 walks, and 3 hits respectively in his most recent AA outings. There's no clear replacement for Howry's job, unless Lieber is healthy.
  2. Cut for Cap Space QB - Derrek Anderson QB - Vince Young RB - LaDainian Tomlinson RB - Joseph Addai RB - Edgerrin James RB - Chester Taylor WR - Braylon Edwards WR - Chad Johnson WR - Dwayne Bowe WR - Santana Moss TE - Vernon Davis K - Adam Vinatieri DEF - Jacksonville
  3. My instinct when the ball was hit was "he reached for it, fly out", then the stupid zoomed out camera angle and the overexcited brewers announcers thinking "he hammered it" freaked me out for a minute. Cubs win, good Marmol is back, huzzah
  4. It's the right move. These Brewer announcers are awful.
  5. I hope not. With Samardzija unavailable and Marshall being a stretch, I'd rather Gaudin face Fielder then Hart and the RH than Cotts face Hart and the RH or burn him.
  6. Routine double play ball that Weeks threw in the dugout, the slide had nothing at all to do with the play as Weeks had released the ball before the baserunner got there. It didn't impact the throw physically, but he rushed it because Johnson was about to slide tackle him.
  7. He was probably locked in his study brainstorming that home/away 5 starter platoon.
  8. At best it would've been close. Of course, it was really close at 3rd too.
  9. I would've had to, but I decided I didn't care enough.
  10. Catch the ball Does anyone botch more pickoffs than us?
  11. Take some pitches or hit it hard, the advantage of making CC throw 20 in the 1st inning is pretty much gone.
  12. I actually doubt this. I don't think he got called up last September (at least he never appeared in a game). Lou was furious with him, and that will probably be one of the names Hendry mentions to Lou, Lou says he will never play him, and that's the end of that. I see Fuld as one of the names along with some of the others already mentioned in this thread. Angel Guzman as well. He's the only RH bat on the 40 man not on the active roster. He may not get used at all, but I have a hard time believing they send him home for September.
  13. Is this really a point worth arguing? Fine, say Marshall because we have depth there, in addition to the much more important acquiring Fuentes and draft picks.
  14. Fox will probably come up.
  15. I don't think that should be considered a "pro" to the trade. Sure it is. There's going to be too many people for not enough spots, and that's going to make constructing and maintaining the roster more difficult. You get two months of Fuentes and two top picks(or extended Fuentes). I mean I guess you could say waiting til the offseason might allow you to use the excess of pitching better, but a top notch reliever for the stretch run plus two top picks is certainly a worthwhile return.
  16. I thought Marshall for Fuentes matched up what Colorado was asking for prior to that, and I'd still do it. Helps alleviate the rotation crunch next year, bolsters the pen, and we get a couple picks to replace Marshall with. Very little downside.
