  2. No, the list of 16 is for seeding, the list of 8 is for inclusion.
  3. All these teams just meld together after the first couple. 1. Kansas 2. Wake Forest 3. Washington 4. Villanova 5. UCLA 6. Xavier 7. Florida St. 8. Clemson 9. Illinois 10. Arizona St. 11. Syracuse 12. Gonzaga 13. BYU 14. Texas 15. Purdue 16. West Virginia 1. Texas A&M 2. Tennessee 3. Oklahoma St. 4. Ohio St. 5. Wisconsin 6. Michigan 7. New Mexico 8 .Minnesota
  4. It's what they do in College Baseball.
  5. Fox would be significantly worse than Barrett. It's not a "he can't block pitches as well as others" sort of thing, it's a "he can't catch the ball" sort of thing.
  6. I liked Cal, the first time through, I had them around 5-6 on my bubble, but took a 2nd look and bumped em out. i don't understand what your bubble is, you have 16 locks and 8 bubble teams, there are a lot more teams that make the tourney than that. That's what Bukie asked for those participating to submit.
  7. All depends on what you have to give up to get longoria. He already said the net would be Phillips for Longoria with his other keepers not being affected.
  8. I'd trade for Longoria. Whiffing on a second choice 3B may cost you more than whiffing on a second choice 2B.
  9. What was he hitting on the gun against the Netherlands?
  10. As you get closer to the regular season, the starters pitch more and more innings, leaving less time for the relievers, who also pitch more frequently. Regardless of any rhetoric, there was zero chance of Cashner making the team, and he wasn't effective early in camp. Demoting him, even at this time, is a non-issue.
  11. I don't think anyone put Kyle Gibson's slider in play tonight. They were only playing Ball State, but still, he could've thrown that thing 100 times and gotten 20 K's. Instead he got 13 K's in 8 IP, with 6 hits and 1 walk netting BSU 1 run.
  12. Is that LSU and Utah State?
  13. Jon Heyman can't seem to make up his mind. Here he says it's 75 or fewer days on the DL, not 75 games played. Also, Gordon Wittenmeyer called it a multi-layered set of clauses, so it may not be so straight forward.
  14. Those pitch counts aren't really anything super worrisome. He's giving up less than a baserunner per inning, so he's spending the majority of his pitches in the windup. Plus, college starters get more rest between starts(although the second start being on 3 days rest isn't too smart), this last outing was on 9 days rest.
  15. Judging by your location...Coffman fan? Very much so. But even leaving Coffman aside, Pettigrew is essentially a guard with good hands. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it seems to me that there's lots of guys around who can do the same thing. I'd want a TE that can go get the ball in the red zone if you're taking one that high.
  16. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when it comes to TEs. Pettigrew is completely fungible.
  17. Blake Griffin got Jordan rules treatment and still ran out of steam. I have no idea why they were having him help break the press, but he was done with about 10 minutes to play in the game.
  18. 20-9 while playing one of the hardest schedules in the country should be a lock. What if they're 21-11 after a first game loss to Providence in the tournament next week? Or worse, they drop that game to DePaul? They'll likely be 1-7 against the Top 25 and 4-8 against the Top 50 going into the Big East tournament. I'm probably just more conservative than most, but to me a lock has to be able to lose the rest of their games and still get in. I don't think WVU can do that, or even be 100% safe at 21-11 considering they have 2 wins to hang their hat on for the whole season.
  19. The issue is more so to save his legs and avoid injury than his being a Dunn-like liability out there. Does fine= not horrible? For an inning at a time? And significantly hurting the offense if he his spot comes up again? Numerically, Soriano is an above average defender, and the best outfield arm in the game.
  20. Yeah, I don't think WVU is a lock. They're only a half step above Providence, and I don't think Providence is even in the field.
  21. If you're going to have a backup middle infielder make several million, I'd much rather someone like Crosby(good defender, prime years, pedigree to make breakout possible) than who we chose. Crosby and Miles on the same roster would be wicked dumb.
  22. Gathright and Hoffpauir are both left handed. And Soriano is fine defensively.
  23. Guzman can't go to Iowa(well, not easily), he's out of options.
  24. Baseball reference stuff isn't tabbed. If you used ESPN, it wouldn't look that way.
