  1. That's fair value for Floyd, the only free agent year of his that's bought out is the option year, and 9.5 million is good money for that one year.
  2. Theriot has poor range and a weak arm, but he has good instincts, sure hands, and an accurate arm. Defensive metrics might overstate him(although I can't say I'm too fond of the "there's some anomalies, so it's all useless!" strategem for evaluating metrics) but if they do it's not by a whole lot. I'd say he's average to slightly below average defensively. The problem is, like his offense, there's not much room for improvement. He can't improve his physical gifts to gain arm strength or range like someone like Cedeno could work on focus to improve his consistency and throwing accuracy.
  3. Yet the posts including the personal attacks are left on the forum? Makes sense to me. Let's make public a threat to a guy who told someone to shut up. But, a post calling someone a "stupid expletive expletive" we will deal with in secret. That's inconsistent. Is that an attack to say that? Most situations are unique when it comes to moderation. If you're upset with how a situation is handled, your best bet would be to privately ask a mod about it. Implying they are hypocrites and/or not doing a good enough job volunteering to help keep NSBB as good as it can be might be an avenue to avoid.
  4. Telling someone to shut up is attacking the person instead of the argument, like calling someone a loudmouth. And not all discipline is made public. The vast majority is behind the scenes, actually.
  5. I'm not too upset about it because Tiller is about the toughest player on the team, and has been banged up on fouls before and still taken the FTs. Honestly I would've been more comfortable with him taking them, and I'm pretty sure Anderson would've been too. Plus the whole English being a worse shooter and a freshman and cold off the bench, etc. Either way though Tiller likely only needed to make one considering how Marquette goofed and stepped over the line. I guess that means they could've tied it at the end, but it rings hollow to me, especially considering that if it weren't for overzealous officiating they likely would've lost by 15.
  6. I've seen a couple of those instances, and they seem to not be calling it if the shooter has to leap way out of his way to get to the contact. If a guy can go pretty much straight up and still get hit, then it's getting called, otherwise you're just playing for the call and they aren't going to give it to you. YMMV of course with the variety of officials and their interpretation of the rules.
  7. Really? Carroll was moving sideways towards the basket. It was another attempt to try to buy a call from a team who does it every trip.
  8. Shut your mouth Buzz Williams, your entire offense is predicated on trying to get foul shots, better luck next time.
  9. Tiller would've made them anyway, this is karma for about a dozen undeserved free throws Marquette got today.
  10. That's either a hold right away or it's a jump ball.
  11. IF YOU RUN INTO SOMEONE AND INITIATE CONTACT IT IS NOT A BLOCKING FOUL
  12. This foul and FT disparity is getting ridiculous. They're just throwing themselves at whoever is in the paint and and getting bailed out with free throws.
  13. Yep, FTs are keeping them in it. The good news is that no one is in foul trouble, so hopefully they can step on the gas like they typically do in the second half and put Marquette away.
  14. Bob Wenzel really seems to have ratcheted up the dumb since the last Mizzou game.
  15. My bad, my manual counting method failed me, too many conferences abbreviating with a 10.
  16. How have none of us picked up on this? Gus Johnson demands excellence from his restaurant experience My favorite comment: "I'll see you... IN THE PARKING LOT!"
  17. Sean Marshall outpitches Jake Peavy through the all star break, finally killing off the trade rumors linking the Cubs to Peavy.
  18. Well if that isn't a bunch of play-the-game-the-right-way cliche BS. And just like in baseball, I'll take the raw talent over the stoic, calm-eyed players and coaches. Man I hate the Big 10 Yeah, let's not pretend that because B10 teams play at such a slow pace that they aren't bad offensively. The Big 10 has just 3 teams in the Top 50 in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency, and none of them are in the top 25. To compare, the ACC has 7 (3 Top 25), the Big East has 9 (7! Top 25), the Big 12 has 7 (5 Top 25), the Pac 10 has 6 (4 Top 25), and the SEC has 3 (2 Top 25).
  19. Kyle Gibson is an absolute machine. He followed up last week's performance against Texas(seen in the previous post) with this line against #3 aTm: 9 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 16/1 K/BB. That's a 29/5 K/BB ratio in 18 IP the last two weeks against two top 5 teams.
  20. Some guy for Wake stepped so far into the key on a FT that it was nearly a contested shot.
  21. CSU was my sleeper Sweet 16 pick, don't let me down Vikings.
  22. For whatever reason I was really amused by Raftery saying "and Ohio State opens up in the ZOOOONE?"
  23. Missouri can find a way. You might want to save that anger up in case U of I goes 26 minutes without a field goal again. Especially since Kansas will only be around one game for you to make fun of. That's right, a twofer
  24. Villanova was my runner-up, so I start rooting for upset pandemonium if this happens(I still mostly want American to win). Thankfully my school can't be eliminated today.
