  1. 3, but I believe those are to be filled by the GRB half of the league.
  2. Duke over UConn is a hard sell for me. I also like Wake Forest for a 2 seed at Memphis' expense, but I don't expect that to be a popular notion.
  3. Officially cleared to play or officially released?
  4. I can't imagine there are too many things that knock the wind out of you quicker than falling 10 feet and landing on your back like that
  5. Who did Devendorf yell at after that 3? Was it the Louisville bench?
  6. Woo, Mizzou beat the 10th, 7th, and 9th seeded teams in the Big 12!!!
  7. Seriously. I just looked it up and Scheyer leads the team at 37%, their team percentage is 157th in the country.
  8. Is it legal to T up Scheyer for falling down every time someone shoots near him? If not it ought to be.
  9. Maybe he will. Even if he doesn't get a ton of opportunity, the difference between what Fontenot will likely do with those limited at bats and what Miles will do is small enough to be more than covered by variance. I don't really care if there's no left handed hitters in the lineup against LHP. First of all, if Fukudome starts hot or Fontenot earns a full time gig, that might not even be true. Secondly, I'm not worried about it for relief pitching purposes since our LH side of the bench is much stronger(Fukudome, Fontenot, Hoffpauir), plus Bradley and Miles are switch hitters. And thirdly, unless there's more evidence than a quote from Andy Pettitte saying he's more comfortable against all RHP, I find it hard to believe there's a significant impact to having a solid RH lineup against LHP.
  10. A platoon is fine, Fontenot hasn't fared so well against LHP in his short MLB career. Plus, it's Lou, so he's going to change his mind a bunch of times. What ends up happening is much more important than Lou's intentions for PT.
  11. Hopefully Scheyer got kneed in the throat on his last flop.
  12. Miles taking at bats from Fontenot v. LHP and occasionally Theriot v. RHP is not a big deal.
  13. I'm morbidly curious how many shots Illinois can miss. It's not like they're being outclassed by their opponent at that end, they just aren't making anything, ever.
  14. Why does the organization care if some guy who works at the stadium thinks it's dumb that they let Dawkins go? How far do you take that? Are you prohibited from cheering for another team if you work for the Eagles in any fashion?
  15. You're welcome, Illini fans. And Keller has the ugliest looking shot I've ever seen from someone playing power conference basketball.
  16. 5 of 6 from 3 in the first 10 minutes, yikes
  17. Yes, Brady Anderson hit a bunch of home runs one year, therefore baseball for the last 10-15 years was a half step above blurnsball.
  18. On the downside, CBS has commercials for Big Bang Theory. I'm gonna give you a Sheldon avatar if you keep this up.
  19. In terms of seed lines, I think OU should definitely move down, Syracuse should definitely move up, and I'd move Washington down. More chances for some teams that are still playing to move up with big wins tomorrow.
  20. Maryland is reaming Wake Forest in the second half. Will anyone try to actually take hold of a 1 or 2 seed?
  21. No. I think it might go back to 15 if the clock is under 15, but that's it.
  22. No TV for Illinois/Michigan? Lame, how am I going to bridge these 20 minutes until Baylor/Texas?
  23. There's plenty of middle infielders who had very little power had good careers and made some money. Luis Castillo, David Eckstein are just a few off the top of my head, even Craig Counsell had 5 years or so when he was a everyday player. Jason Kendall had a pretty good career, with no power as well. If you're a middle infielder or catcher, and you hit for average and can take a walk you can have a good career as a regular in the majors with no power. Miles doesn't get on base at near the rate of any of those guys. Last year's BABIP inflated season was the only time he's ever exceeded a .330 OBP. The lowest of those guys you mentioned is Counsell at a career .343, with Eckstein over .350 and Castillo and Kendall pushing .370. That's the problem. Miles has one thing he does well, hit singles. His physique and approach prevent him from having any type of fluky power success, he doesn't take enough walks to have value as a Theriot/Eckstein type player, he's too old to have any type of age related improvement, and he's a below average defender wherever he plays. There's zero upside to having him on the roster, and we paid well over his value to guarantee he's around for 2 years. That's why people are continually upset about him.
  24. American is shooting it's way into the tournament. Up 18 on Holy Cross in the Patriot League final.
