They kept talking about how the replays showed that it was the right call, but it wasn't until the very last one that it looked pretty clear it grazed the ground after he snagged it again. Tough call, but I'm pretty sure he got it right.

i have no idea what has happened to him. he's playing like he's afraid to throw the ball. Yeah, he's totally fallen apart this season. I don't think he was ever all that good. My intution about Ole Miss from before the season seems to be about right. I was wrong about Wisconsin though, they've really put those close early games behind them.

Grienk is a FA after 2012 King Felix's contract was purchased in 2005 and he officially has 3.060 years of ML service, so he is probably a FA around 2012/13 Lincecum's contract was purchased in 2007 and has 1.148 years of ML service so he won't be a FA until 2014/15 or so. Those service time numbers are before this season. Felix will be a FA after 2011, Lincecum after 2013. -

So Cashner goes from just behind #5 in the FSL list if he had IP, to not making the SL list. Seems like a gulf of opinion about him amongst BA's writers. -

Joshua coaching in lower levels is better for the organization than him coaching MLB hitters. If this move forced him out of the organization, then it's really dumb. Wittenmeyer's Twitter said that Sandberg will not get an interview. Dave (I think it's Dave) Keller will get an interview, and they'll look outside the organization as well.

It'd be kinda neat to have the Cubs draft a guy I saw play when he was 10. His dad is a professional hitting instructor, so he should be relatively polished as a hitter if he were to stay there/be converted.

does that feel right to you? 35 runs? he played 84 games in the of and 67 at first base. just because we have easy access to uzr doesn't mean we should just accept it as gospel. Yeah, I like UZR and realize Dunn is an atrocious defender, but 35 runs in that many games seems a bit too high. UZR consistenly has Dunn as a -20 defender or worse. Even if 35 is an outlier, the crux of Rob's point is still true. Dunn's defense destroys most of his overall value, to the point where he's not worth his contract.

I don't see the appeal of Towers. I know he had his payroll slashed to nothing, but even prior to that he hadn't built teams that were all that spectacular. -
