  1. It didn't have supplemental, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round picks.
  2. The SEC has two Top-5 teams and a bunch of meh. I'm not going to say that any particular conference is better, but there is very little depth at all. The problem is that LSU and Ole Miss were in the Top 10 so now when they lose to Georgia/Arkansas/Auburn/Tennessee it "shows how deep the conference is" when neither team is any better than, say, Oklahoma State or Wisconsin.
  3. Jackson's ceiling is nice but he, just like Vitters, has major question marks. And Vitters definitely has a higher ceiling than Jackson. All while Jackson is older and hasn't even taken a stab at high-A. Jackson has had fewer question marks show up thus far though. Vitters has serious concerns about walks, defense, and health, while Jackson's only problem thus far has been K's(and he's still been raking despite them). Vitters has the higher ceiling and is several years younger, but Jackson hasn't had any performance issues thus far. I can see the argument either way.
  4. I really hope the Angels get out of this inning, because those were two of the most heads up defensive plays you'll see.
  5. Estes had a 5.73 ERA in 2003, that's worse than Tapani's 5.01.
  6. Yeah the way it was said was dumb. I think he was meaning more that he would rather have a guy who manages the game than a guy who gun slings it everywhere and has a lot of turnovers (as well as big plays). I would agree with that point. No, it's [expletive] stupid. That team would probably be 6-0 with Cutler. The Bears would not be 6-0 with Orton Or maybe Cutler's higher risk/reward play would've resulted in more uneven play and a much higher probability/certainty that Denver would've lost at least one game, especially considering 4 of the six were tight/one score games.
  7. Well that was a long article that never really went much of anywhere.
  8. Saying "I wouldn't mind this person being on the Cubs" does not mean "all else equal, I'd rather have this person play SS than Theriot".
  9. Turner runs really hard for as fast as he is.
  10. The ref pulled a Kanye on the Falcons fans. "I'm gonna let you finish, but there was holding on the offense."
  11. Last chance to get Gameday here before I graduate and we couldn't make it happen either, they're going to partytown USA instead. Time to hope that a bunch of things go horribly wrong for Texas, like McCoy insisting he take kickoffs and then breaking his arm on the first one.
  12. They're #22 in the BCS and tied for 2nd in the Pac-10 after beating decent Oregon State(on the road) and Stanford teams. Their other loss is on the road to decent Washington on a pick-6. They aren't Texas, but it's a perfectly good non-con win.
  13. Upwards of 1/3 of their road games are played in Seattle, Oakland, and Anaheim, all pitchers parks of sometimes extreme degrees. Plus, when you look at some of the names of those he's most notably helped, like DeRosa and Dellucci, those guys didn't have large home/road splits
  14. I think Iowa beats LSU and Miami. And to be fair, they probably beat the 5th and 4th teams in the BCS, so it evens out. They are ranked the worst undefeated team in a major conference.
  15. Project Prospect has a chart with the LD% of a great many pitching prospects from this last year, minimum of 100 batters faced. Here are the Cubs on the list: AAA - Avg = 18.7, Std Dev = 3.9 Berg - 16.7 Atkins - 18 Parker - 19.5 Gaub - 19.7 Caridad - 20.9 Samardzija - 21.6 Russell - 23 AA - Avg = 17.1, Std Dev = 4.6 Cashner - 18.4 Jackson - 18.8 Schlitter - 20.1 Chen - 21 Lambert - 21.7 Russell - 28.7 Cales - 30.9 High A - Avg = 13.8, Std Dev = 4.6 Dolis - 11.8 Searle - 11.8 Jackson - 15.8 Cales - 17.8 Low A - Avg = 15.3, Std Dev = 3.6 Antigua - 7.9 Huseby - 11.9 Archer - 13.5
  16. You can't run a zone read when your QB is basically on crutches. No 2 backs, no jet sweep fakes, no quick pitches like in the first half, just the zone read over and over again.
  17. haha, you can't stare down the same receiver running the same route as the last time you converted, I don't care how much your ankle hurts
  18. I have no idea how anything at any part of that play or the review would give anyone the idea it was a fumble. There were multiple angles showing his knee and arm down before the ball moved at all. Incredible.
  19. If we lose because of a wide open receiver tipping a ball into a pick-6, I'm gonna have to go anger pee in the courtyard.
  20. Trent Williams, preseason all-american and personal foul specialist
  21. The Cardinals should be so lucky as to have Pujols walked all the time. Fortunately, that was last year. You can't make the jokes this easy.
  22. That clip never ceases to amuse me, especially while they run back the last kickoff.
