  1. You can look up statcast data for AAA players
  2. I'm torn between empathy for Cleveland as the team with the longest drought in baseball, and hoping they keep losing so they take over as the longest one ever.
  3. I'm going to my grave claiming that leaving him out of my top 20 was a software glitch. (I did intend to have him around 10-12, but there was a brain glitch)
  4. I think the article is generally correct in its point and way overly dramatic in its title. There is a dearth of impact players from Latin America for the Cubs. But there is not an "Utter Dearth of Homegrown Talent". Alzolay and Amaya are completely home grown. Palencia, Canario and Alcantara were developed here (to the same extent as Oneill Cruz for the Pirates). Insufficient? Absolutely. "Utter Dearth"? Way over the top drama.
  5. There were only 33 batters who beat 4 WAR this year. Each of Dansby, Nico, PCA, Happ, Suzuki and Paredes could all reasonably reach that next year. They're not all going to do it, but having 6 guys that are all capable of that is a fantastic place to start the offseason. I want Soto. But we don't have to go out and get a "big bat" to have a really good set of position players. #1 priority is upgrade catcher. What comes next depends on Bellinger.
  6. Would you plan to trade Shaw or just keep him at Iowa as an injury replacement? I suppose if you like Castro more than Tauchman he could be your backup OF. I know the article is looking for ways to add more left handed hitters, but I'd really like to break in Shaw next year in that Zobrist-type role.
  7. bah, humbug. Take two of the next three against Washington, AZ and NE. Go 3-3 in the division games Go 1-1 against the west coast teams That's doable and ends up at 10-7.
  8. What I recall is 51% of the offensive snaps
  9. I hit the submit about half way through. The first seven are in the right order

  11. Note I said "former" on my post. Illinois should ditch the Chief. They should also change the "Fighting Illini" unless the tribe is in favor of the continued use. Minnesota misunderstanding the phrase and continuing with it and just saying "the white guy was right" definitely isn't as bad, but you may want to rethink using it on a frequent basis. And defending something that's a little racist by pointing to something that's more racist...isn't a great look. Just saying. But I feel like I've wandered into virtue signaling territory here when I started with honest curiosity about the origins of the phrase, so I'm going to leave it alone after this one.
  12. Honoring Native Americans in a totally lazy, kinda racist way (didn't care enough to get it right, hasn't ever been corrected since then) (I say this as a formerly proud supporter of Chief Illiniwek)
  13. When did each get their first 300+ yd, 2 td, 0 turnover games?
  14. I thought it was a shove the first couple times
  15. I'm sure I'm going to regret this...but what the hell does that mean? (I know it's a Minnesota thing. But why?)
  16. Detroit openered themselves into the playoffs. Based on how well it worked for them in the second half of the season, I don't think one bad game of it will kill it.
  17. I think Soto is a good bet over the longer term. I don't feel as confident with Vlad.
  18. Well, yeah. Make it so, Jed.
  19. hah - yeah; I went to WSI after I made that comment and saw that page and figured I must be mistaken.
  20. Didn't they acquire White Sox Interactive? Or did I dream that?
  21. They acquired a White Sox board this year, too.
  22. I'd have: Smith much higher (I've got him at #2) Triantos below Alcantara Horton over Caissie, but I get the added risk here But it's a fine list and all defensible.
