Not directed at me but as soon as he started spazzing at Bartman, I knew we were gonna lose. However, to his credit, I think he was much more diplomatic in the aftermath. I would have spazzed too.

Not very likely, but I could totally see them coming out of nowhere and giving Harper a massive (compared to the other teams) offer to sign with them. They keep downplaying the importance of signing one of those 2, but its possible they actually get a bit desperate with 1 off the board. Agreed, it ain't happening. I think with Manny they'd have a real cornerstone for the rebuild. Now it looks pretty meh. To which I say good! White Sox fans are garbage. -

I will say that I don't think the NBA is above some lottery tomfoolery to get certain teams high picks. I will go to my grave believing that they gifted the Bulls the #1 pick in the DRose draft, for example. Bulls and Knicks could use some lotto help, hopefully the league obliges.

On one hand: Zion, Lauri, WCJ, Lavine, Dunn would be a very nice young core. On the other hand, Zion probably won't happen, their coach is a clown, the front office directionless and the culture is toxic. GARPAX should resign before they do any more damage.

I don't have a favorite projector or site, but Fangraphs has us at 88-74. Basically I think the Cubs should sign Bryce to get us into the 90's heading into the season.

Saw the new PECOTA projections this morning. Cubs, 82-80, third place. Bryce is a need, not want.

Baseball coming back has me excited but I feel mostly dread about the Cubs. Probably a 90 win team but the division will be tough and things could go south for both the pitching staff and offense. To say nothing of the continued Ricketts loathsomeness, Addison Russell's existence, offseason from hell, etc. -
I know Q hasn't been the ace some hoped but they'd be crazy to pass on that option. He's still a very good value.

I'd think rangy and young OF Jason Heyward would look great running down balls in that huge outfield. (except that one time last year that ball hit off his head and he got injured or whatever.....)
