  1. The cat had me until he said heyward being moved was on the table. We broke him, we bought him.
  2. And Cole! I like Cole and think he'll be solid but spending $20 million with this supposed tight budget doesn't seem like a great use of resources.
  3. I just can't see the White Sox thing; they're not going to be good for a couple of years even if things go exactly right. Bryce grew up dreaming about playing for the Yankees, I can't see him playing for a second division type team.
  4. I had forgotten about Martinez, that dude can hit. I'd probably play him over Fowler in RF. 88 wins, I suppose. NL Central will be tough again.
  5. Yadi Goldy Wong DeJong Carpenter Ozuna Bader Fowler 87 wins.
  6. 2 years in a row the cardinals have seemingly fleeced someone in a trade. Bet Theo would love a redo on the Q/Eloy trade. Yikes.
  7. Well I hope he bails after one year. Or even better, signs a big contract and becomes a Heywardian albatross. Without the championship-winning locker room speech, obvs.
  8. Rams clinched their division last week, might be catching them at a good time.
  9. I hope the cardinals spend big on Goldschmidt and he leaves in a year anyway.
  10. Timings seems weird to me. Tanking for this season seems to be going well and he hasn't exactly had a healthy squadron. I think they're all terrible (gar, pax, hoi) but I don't get this.
  11. This is the weirdest cubs offseason I can recall.
  12. I'm not sure what I want, the Cardinals to stand pat or trading the farm for Goldschmidt only to have him leave after one year. I can't see Harper or Machado signing there.
  13. Also like this move for them, was thinking he might end up a Cardinal.
  14. Soooo. You can just get sold right out mlb to freaking japan like that?
  15. 3 Glen Ellyn posters, very nice! Come to Maize & Mash on Black Wednesday, I'll be at the bar having an Old Fashioned.
  16. Not that it's far from Elmhurst at all, but GE is where my mom's side of the family is from (and mostly still are), and it's always weird to me to find someone else from there. I'll be spending Christmas at my grandmother's tiny house right by Glenbard. Ha, that's great! Me too, my parents still live there, for now. And I work in Elmhurst (actually Berkeley, but whatever) so the circle is complete!
  17. I think I definitely need to be following Charles the Cat on twitter. Also, Glen Ellyn Snow Flurry Weevils.
  18. Sbarro is delicious don't @ me!
  19. I still don't believe the slide excuse for KB. His swing has always looked ouchy for his front side/shoulder, with that high finish on balls he doesn't make contact with. I don't know what happened with the two-handed finish, I like that much better.
  20. Last offseason was just a disaster; we used up a whole lot of resources to not get any better. I cop to being happy about getting Yu (and still think we'll get something from him) but I really wanted Yelich and/or Cain as well. Our outfield pretty much sucks.
  21. I don't understand what Hickey did wrong. The pitching staff started out struggling a bit but basically carried this team when the offense fell apart. PTR is back and coaching staff upheaval, not the start to the offseason I wanted.
  22. I still think we'll get some value out of Yu. Chatwood is pocket change, comparatively, and we might not have won the WS without Heyward so I'm already good on that one. If Yu is still having arm problems next year I'm fully on the "make Yu pitch with his left hand" train. We'll get some value out of this guy yet!
  23. I expected Wong to win so I'm more than cool with DJ winning it. I know their twitter account has been pushing Wong all season so I'll probably stop by there for the lulz. "Yeli" is a stone cold lock for MVP, though.
  24. I am as surprised as you. I had basically given up on Lovie after the Purdue game but 55 is pretty good. Can’t believe how bad we lost to Maryland, though. They suuuuuuuck.
