Yeah, he seems to get ahead a lot and then throws the same garbage 2-3 pitches that aren’t close and every count goes full. Mix it up!

Well, they’re on a big time heater and I’m guessing matheny being gone is part of that. However, mostly I just don’t want to play them because it’d be so annoying to lose to them.

Agreed, we'll see how they fare long term with Schildt but these aren't the same stale-ass cardinals from 2015. I think the Cubs should be better for a while but they have good pitching and much improved chemistry. Basically breaks down like this: Teams I want to face: Phillies, Rockies, Brewers, DBacks Teams I'd rather miss: Dodgers, Cardinals, Braves

Kinda strange they aren't waiting til the offseason to see who might be available, etc. but they've completely turned it around for now. I will always miss Matheny and his hamstringing ways. Who will ruin all those young pitchers now?!?

Does this mean this Thursday, as in the makeup game against the Braves? Sure wouldn't mind pushing Q back one more day......the barves kill lefties, really hoping we don't see those guys in the playoffs.

Yeah, it's too bad he's such a chud but it's easy to see what he's doing for the offense. Cole Hamels has been similarly important and at least he seems like a good dude. Two huge acqusitions, definitely feel like they changed the trajectory of the season. Chavez has been good too.
