How deep into the organization does this horsefeathers go, though? Aren’t the chances high that if they fire Matheny, they’ll hire someone more or less just like him to replace him? Just look at the comments their GM just made about Dex. They’ll hire the same type of guy if they fire Matheny. I could see them landing Girardi if he wants back in. He's not great but competent enough, and checks all the cardinal-ly boxes.
