  1. Tell me how this hurts anything? It doesn't hurt anything. It also wouldnt hurt anything to put them on umpires, the pitcher etc. It wouldnt hurt anything the encase the stands with nets (similar to Japan I believe). It wouldnt hurt anything to have a face mask on the batter either. Just because it "doesn't hurt anything" is a terrible reason. Obviously if they wnt to wear it, more power to them. The most ironic thing here is that had Coolbaugh been wearing a helmet, he would still be dead.
  2. Reactionary. Unnessecary. Tell me again how a helmet will prevent injuries when a coach is hit in the neck?
  3. I don't think he's holding his cards close to his chest in this scenario...that's wishful thinking, guys. The organization simply will not take on the AROD contract after committing so much to Soriano. I don't think he is here either, simply too much money. It was a more a commentary on that he was bashed in this instance for saying he wasn't interested, while at the same time he would have been bashed for expressing interest in Arod.
  4. So some people hate when Hendry is honest about his intentions. Others hate when he holds his cards close to his chest. Awesome.
  5. I reserved a couple of the hotel rooms so I wouldnt have to worry about this today. Tickets cost 50 Hotel room costs 200, plus 10 per ticket (up to four).
  6. While I understand and mostly agree with your point........It sure sould suck t have Arod and Crawford wouldn't it? edit: I really Yanr'ed that one.
  7. There are not posting fees on free agents. Well, just a little late on the one (Two replies, lol)
  8. 2 football teams, Michigan and Minny. Both North Dakota State and Appalachian State are Division I teams. Why be accurate when you can be dramatic?
  9. It doesnt matter who signs and who doesnt. If they sign, the Base Year Deal, is NEXT season. If wouldnt put any restiction on Deng. Poison pill provision. Yeah, the PPP means his contract would be counted as a higher amount, meaning The Bulls couldnt through Griifin (for example) in with the trade. Frankly, I think the knowledge of what he will be getting for the next 5 years would be worth it to the Lakers. (I do not want Deng sent over at all)
  10. It doesnt matter who signs and who doesnt. If they sign, the Base Year Deal, is NEXT season. If wouldnt put any restiction on Deng.
  11. It hasn't been brought up because it doesn't deserve to be brought up. The Cubs aren't even in the same league as the Boston Red Sox. Anything can happen? Sure, aliens might land on the White House front lawn tonight, too. The Cubs are in the National League, the Sox are in the American league. Very good.
  12. It's just grass and cement blocks. Who cares. When they replaced theoutfield a few weeks ago, I grabbed a bunch and planted it, so I know where youre coming from. But a goal post anchor is literally just a big ole block of cement.
  13. The way I look at it is if the Cubs were to make it to the World Series (hahahaha yeah right), some enterprising Rockies fan would surely buy my ticket and sell it to me for even more than I would be getting for a Rockies World Series ticket. It's capitalism and I don't feel bad for doing it. Well it's really more an example of Free Enterprise, but I understand what you're saying. I've particapated in selling tickets in the past as well. Doesn't make it right though.
  14. Oprah also has a last name. So did Leonardo. So does Lebron. If calling someone by a last name is acceptable, why not a first name if it adequately identifies who you are discussing?
  15. So how will the fences look with the field being lowered 2 ft.? I doubt the bricks go 2 ft. into the ground. I'm anxious to see how this works out. As the brick is covered, that doesn't concerm me too much. I see the ivy as the more pressing issue. I don't even know how they would move it down. Of course, the "crown" of the infield may be the only part of the field that is lowered substantially. The warning track may already be at the desired height.
  16. Meredith? Phyllis?
  17. After this season, the only interleague matchup we will have not had is vs. Boston in Fenway. We will have played every other team in baseball at home and at their place. So... uh... Cubs @ Fenway in 2011? Also, LOL @ the Cubs never getting a win in Yankee stadium. 0-7 all time at the place that Ruth built I predict 2-8 all time in the house that Ruth Built.
  18. Here's a nice little scheduling gem: April 22: In Chicago April 23: In Colorado April 24: In Colorado April 25: In Washington DC We fly west from Chicago for a two game trip, before flying all the way back east. WTF? I assumed we would have been somewhere else out west prior to the Rockies seies.
  19. Careful, you're nearing a man code violation there.
  20. Well, at least it was a fun ride.
  21. Buckner came back to play and retire with Boston in 1990. He was cheered despite being terrible. Anyone else watch the Buckner play and think that Mookie might have been safe even if Buckner fielded it cleanly? Mookie was hauling ass down the line. http://youtube.com/watch?v=3jv3uP1iKHU He'd have been out.
  22. Water is not ok, but sweat is. Check.
