  1. Roast, you're welcome to come over. I'm up near Wrigley. By the way, were you driving a red car on Irving Park headed East yesterday evening?
  2. Back to high school for you.
  3. something tells me that the braves are gonna go with the buyout rather than the $20M next year. The Rockies are on the hook for that. Colorado to pay $49M ($20M signing bonus, $8M in 2001, $8.5M in 2002, $2M in 2003, $2M in 2004, $2.5M in 2005, $6M buyout in 2009). Florida to pay $23.5M ($7M of 2003 salary, $8M in 2004, $8.5M in 2005). Atlanta to pay $48.5M ($2M of 2003 salary, $2M in 2004, $1.5M in 2005, $13.5M in 2006, $14.5M in 2007, $15M in 2008).
  4. Mantle and Maris?
  5. That made me laugh way harder than it should have. I usually calls those "burps" :D
  6. they are only doing it every few years Every 4 years. (this first cycle through was 3 years, but every 4 after that)

  8. Per ESPN.com. 153.3 over 8 years. A mere 19.16 million anually (average)
  9. The way they have it set up now, they play over there, then get back to the states with a week to transition back, and then start up again with real games. Silly would be expecting these teams to spend a week in Japan, play on the 31st, and then a day or two later be playing again 12 time zones away. you have your view and i have mine You are seriously that out of touch with reality? Play on the 31st, flay around the globe, and play a fresh team 2 days later. Wow. going to california to play a series wouldn't be that hard...but yes...i suppose i am out of touch with reality...wow...thanks for the insight! Its fine to take an incorrect stance, so congrats. I, MLB, and nearly any reasonable person will gladly sit on the opposite side of the fence as you. :cray: (I can use meaningless smilies too)

  12. Facing the field, 1,2,3,4 are on the right, 101,102,103,104 are on the left.
  13. Maybe in the SEC. Two years ago (05-06) Syracuse finished tied for 9th in the Big East and not only advanced to the Big East final but won the tournament. Hell, I thought he meany only number 6 seeds. Other big Ten lesser seeds in the finals I can recall. #11 Illinois in 99, #9 Iowa in 02, #8 Ohio State in 03, #10 Illinois in 08.
  14. Without even bothering to find others, I know Iowa won the Bg Ten tourney as a 6 seed in 2001.
  15. So you're saying the umpire of love might have made some favorable calls for him? Completely wrong thread for this I know, but weren't you the guy with the translations before? If so, why does the shirt below not match? http://static.zoovy.com/img/cubworld/W500-H500-Bffffff/K/kosuke_fukudome_chicago_cubs_player_shirt_japanese1.jpg
  16. Didn't see this anywhere else. http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail;jsessionid=F11ACB2AE3287C92F752D4437C4DF839?contentId=5354743&version=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1&sflg=1
  17. Mike and Mike today reported there are now 13 stadiums offering some form of all you can eat seats. I will be going to a game in oakland this summer.....
  18. Let's hope so. I'll even take Pie is going to be a SOLID player! He'll be solid and then progress to fantastic. I have confidence in Pie producing. The key is playing time and this year is the year for him to get that. Meph disagrees. who's Meph? oh, right, the nsbblol blogger... Really? Yes, really. When was this figured out? I wouldnt have guessed it , particularly given the rant on Meph himself. If so, he loses serious credibility. Because while some of it is fair, most of it is just crass. yes, it's true. long story, but the blogger was him and now he's banned I just read some of it and holy crap! What's with all the racism? If you're referring to the racism in the comments, that is none other than our old frieds Baseball7897 and Reds44 with a little Omar sprinkled in. 20 Stanley nickels to whoever PM's me the link.
  19. They all look to same. Ballplayers that is. That are played by the same man.
  20. Thanks for the help guys. I'll be at Yankee Stadium on August 16 and 17, Shea on the 19th.
  21. This summer I will be heading East before they shut the doors on these places. As some of you have been out there, do you have any tips or advice on either stadium (yes I know Shea is a dump)? Also, any pointers on the city itself (as a tourist) would be great. Thanks Gary
  22. the Sheffield House is a #$%# Hole to end all #$%# holes...we stayed there a couple years ago...there was actual grafiti on the sheets...people had signed the bed spreads...we slept on top of the covers and by 7:00 a.m. the next morning had made arrangements to get a hotel out by O'Hare and take a cab back into the game. Thanks for the help.... Have you ever heard of the Hotel Cass? I stayed there a couple of years ago and should have brought my own sheets.... I guess it just got torn down not too long ago...is this sheffield house worse than that? we are just looking for a place to crash at night... won't be spending any real time in the room. also flying into Midway if that helps anyone... hotels on the orange line? It didn't get torn down, they recently finished rehabbing it.
  23. What does that even refer to? A corked bat doesn't help you hit a baseball any farther. No, but it makes your bat lighter. I would call that cheating. Edit: Or should I say, I would call that a 'competitive advantage' They do make bats of varying weights.
  24. Use your indoor voice, Jesse. I think it is "Jessie"
