  1. I think the insinuation is that OBP is the key. The stolen bases are kind of superfluous. Roberts would indeed be a good leadoff hitter, but not because of his speed.
  2. Just do what I am doing - look away for a year. This is gonna be ugly.
  3. I'm pretty sure that's what everyone is wondering.
  4. Agree with everything. Easley is 38, but if Derosa isn't gonna play SS, Easley can. Easley played over 200 innings at SS as recently as 2006. Can't really field well, but neither can Theriot. Colon is a much higher reward, will likely being the same risk as Leiber. Trade is still probably the way to go, though. Word is that Colon can't hit 90 in winter ball. I'd rather have Lieber than Colon with no heat.
  5. And if the Redskins pull out an amazing ending, we'll hear how Sean Taylor was looking down from heaven. His ghost could not help the ball through the up-rights though, I didn't hear them mention that. Somewhere in the universe, Sean Taylor's spirit is not giving a crap about football.
  6. The only way the NFC wins the SB is if the Titans or Steelers make the game.
  7. Back from whence he came, I guess.
  8. There is no argument about this point.
  9. I really don't think Kenny does. He's still living in 2005.
  10. I don't think you have any clue to how much you are going to hate Jason Kendell this time next year. He will drive you f'in nuts. His 2nd half was highlight only because of a good August. Outside of that he sucked. He'll do nothing but hit popups and slow grounders, and every single the Brewers give up to a guy faster than Hector Villanueva will effectively be a double. The man can look at pitches like a champ, though. The Brewers actually downgraded from Johnny Estrada, and that's saying something. Kendall was a guy who made his living being gritty, but now that his body is wearing down, he doesn't have much.
  11. I'm not even going to try and disguise my bitterness. I hope Gordon breaks his leg.
  12. I still can't believe WVU lost to Pitt.
  13. I didn't even see the one on the main page, I just saw the one on the page with the story. MLB.com is mixing up pictures left and right.
  14. Nope, that's Dunston.
  15. 1. It's a resource hog 2. You have to buy new versions of programs like Word, most of which don't work nearly as well as the original. My computer could handle it, but why switch when XP is better?
  16. After the mighty Gators were beaten by the 3rd best team in the lowly B10? Are you surprised?
  17. I don't think Mizzou would have done a whole lot better, if that's what you are insinuating. I'm pretty confident in saying Missouri wouldn't have lost to USC by 32 points. USC would have been favored but it likely would have been a 10-15 point game rather than a complete blowout. Agree with this assessment. To be fair, it could have easily been half that if not for two fumbles right on the verge of scoring TD's. USC was going to win no matter what, but the game wasn't as bad as the score made it look until the 4th.

  19. I just hope the game is half as good as last year's Boise St.-OU game. That was one of the greatest games ever. That was the best college football game I have ever seen. USC-Texas. I think it's a toss-up, and since I hate USC and Texas, I prefer the BSU-OU game.
  20. Yeah, I am preparing myself for an really ugly B10 season. It will be different, but in a couple years the Illini should be back near or on top.

  22. Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. Illinois really never had a good chance to win this game, but the play calling hasn't helped at all. Having said that, the game was at least a bit more competitive than the score indicates. The play calling and those fumbles are the reason for the size of the deficit. And am I the only Illini fan who would like to see more of Eddie McGee next year?
  23. Though I don't share it, I understand the hate for the Patriots. What I don't understand is how anyone could hate them more than Shula and the '72 Dolphins. Sometimes I wish they could spend one day a young as they were then to play against even the worst NFL team right now, just to see them get annihilated.
  24. Me too. I'd love to see a Bucs/Pats Superbowl. I don't know who I'd root for. I wouldn't even watch. That's a horrible SB matchup. I just enjoy the commercials that accompany the annual blowout.
