  1. I hate to burst your bubble, but if Harden is hurt he doesn't have much choice in the matter.
  2. Truf may be over the top with the N Dakota stuff, but let's get serious. Iowa is one of the most underrated states in the union. ehhh...only the eastern side, maybe. Iowa City is pretty good, Davenport has the river and that's about it, Cedar Rapids is a dump (that's pre-flood, it's worse now for obvious reasons) and Des Moines is the most boring "big" city I've been to. The Field of Dreams is cool though. I'd much rather live in CR than Des Moines (calling DM a "big city" is kind of funny). It's not aesthetically pleasing, but where in Iowa really is? IMO, CR is easily the second best city to live in, if you must live in Iowa. And all of the cities along the Mississippi suck. Hard. Outside of the Linn/Johnson County area, the state is utterly worthless. It might as well be Nebraska, and that is not a good thing.
  3. I've only seen Leftwich once this season, and that was last night. And he threw a laser that should have been hauled in. I was impressed, though it was only a single pass of course. Orton hasn't thrown a ball like that...that's for sure. Considering what the Bears have had at QB in recent years, Leftwich would be fine by me.
  4. How can you love T.O.? Even as a fan of his team (or ex-team) it would be hard. He is one of those players who you tolerate(d) being on your team only because they are so good. Owens is a world class turd.
  5. I'll go with the Steelers in this fantastically uninspiring matchup.
  6. Cardinals. Especially if Boldin plays.
  7. Bingo. One last year of being "the man" before reality hits. And maybe a bit of delusion that somehow he will be perceived as a legit NFL QB a year from now.
  8. The BCS has ruined college football for me. New Years Day used to be a day to set aside and watch football all day long, but now the games are stretched out over weeks and it's just too much. If the BCS ruined college football for you, you obviously weren't that big of a fan to begin with. And the BCS didn't cause the games to be spread out over weeks, television did. I don't see why anyone would care. What is the attraction of having 3 games on at the same time anyway? Wouldn't a real fan want them spread out so they could actually watch them all? Consecutive days would be nice.
  9. Yes, yes they are.
  10. OU certainly could have won the game if they had cashed in their chances. It seemed like the Sooners were in the driver's seat until midway through third. And after seeing Utah manhandle Alabama, I certainly think they have a legitimate gripe with being left out of the discussion.
  11. So do I, but the problem is I dislike UT and their fans even more. :-k
  12. Well, it's more replacing Edmonds with Fuku/Johnson, adding Bradley, and adding Gathright to the bench.
  13. Tex is a great player, but he isn't worth the kind of money he is being offered.
  14. If I had to pick a second favorite team, it would probably be the Indians. I would be fine with this.
  15. Don't say I didn't tell you so when the Yankees surprisingly jump into the Peavy sweepstakes (but if they don't, please conveniently forget I said this) I somehow doubt Peavy would accept a trade to NY.
  16. If by "a few" you mean "most", then you are right.
  17. those are actually correct they can be done either way but newspapers, or at least the one I work for wants the apostrophe No, not really. Apostrophes should only be used in the pluralization of a number or abbreviation (2000's or CD's), but even in that case it is becoming quite irregular. There was a time when it was acceptable to use an apostrophe when pluralizing a word that ends in a vowel, but that was a long, long time ago. Using one in the words IMB used as examples would be wrong. What we are talking about here is the greengrocer's apostrophe, a phenomenon that I am sure has driven many an English instructor mad. If there is a newspaper that allows it, I am surprised the Apostrophe Protection Society hasn't gone all PETA on it. Apostrophes really shouldn't ever be used to pluralize.
  18. Nope. Or rather we don't have the expendable assets it would take.
  19. :D 33,000 unique visitors and over 2.5M pageloads in October. Whatever, though. And to think all of that without the ability to put nifty little smileys into the posts. How else would one convey wit? Let us know when you figure that out.
