  1. Cutler can't keep taking those kinds of hits all the time. I think the coaches at least acknowledged that. But Lovie said something to the effect of "oh well, sometimes it just happens." Those weren't his exact words, but I couldn't help but think: no, against the Browns? Not against THEM, it shouldn't happen. Maybe you just have "one of those days" against the Vikings, or some good team that can really bring it. Having that kind of day against the Browns is going to put Cutler on the IR, because if they can't block that team, think of what will happen when Allen is dialing up against you, or one of the other much better pass rushers we will have to face. I'm pretty concerned about this team against the Vikes. They'll stuff our run for sure, maybe even for negative net yardage. Then the Bears will respond by trying to throw 50 times, and you know what will happen when they try that.
  2. The Cubs are a lot closer to a championship than you give them credit for. They had one of the top pitching staff's in the league last year, and suffered from abysmal production from an offense that looked pretty good on paper before the season started. This isn't the time for a complete overhaul or an owner with a jumpy trigger finger. Especially considering the number of dollars the Cubs are committed to. I'm interested to see what Hendry will be able to do this off season, with his job on the line. We have a pretty good team on paper. Listening to the NPR interview, player development is where a lot of the focus is going to go. Ricketts said free agency is to fill holes that you can't develop. I like this as a long term plan, but I don't get the feeling we'll see any major moves this offseason. and as I said in an earlier post, if we don't acquire one single impact player and open 2010 with the same team we had in 2009, I'd be just fine with that, so long as Ricketts spends this offseason finding the absolute best people available to develop young talent at every level. We'll see. If he's going to take an entire year just to get his footing, then perhaps he won't even do that.
  3. Well, it made it over at least. BTW, I think you have to at least have had a beer with a guy or something before you can call him "my boy."
  4. That's not what was being said. It's strictly a numbers analysis of possibilities...I could also win a million dollars tomorrow, but I wouldn't start begging me for a loan just yet. OK.
  5. Yes, but can you really see the Bears beating the Vikings...
  6. Yeah I've been looking at the schedule, and what other teams are doing, and the conclusion I'm coming to is that the Bears making the playoffs this year would be surprising. Even if they start playing better. I think it was actually beneficial that the Pack lost today though. We need to be in 2nd place--both WC teams aren't coming from the North.
  7. Yeah, unless you enjoy watching the Great Satan of baseball likely sewing up another championship, you're outta luck.
  8. Crap. One damn play and all that work erased.
  9. Save some of those for next week Kurt.
  10. Upon further review, not really Grant's fault.
  11. Hopefully they waste more years of good talent on him.
  12. Berrian is pretty easy to knock off his route.
  13. It's a ballgame wow!!
  14. Not sure how the hell you let a ball batted 20 feet in the air fall incomplete, especially when an INT there would change the whole game.
  15. Yeah, it would have helped if KC wasn't so dumb.
  16. This game went from a must see to a joke very quickly.
  17. Yeah, he's done, the coaching staff has got to see this while reviewing the game films. Now will they have the nerve to bench him and expose Angelo' bad signing? yeah, it's not working. I don't think they'll shift Williams to the other side this year though.
  18. I guess the message today from Favre is: "I get to be the whiny, indecisive QB in the offseason and you have to just take it, GB. Because if you don't like it then I'll come back and rip your heart out."
  19. Hopefully AZ lets this carry over to next week.
  20. Yeah, it's pretty hard to miss the lack of discipline that McCarty's teams seem to show. There's just no excuse for some of this stuff. If he didn't have a nice stock of offensive playmakers, he might not win 4 games a year
  21. Hey babe, see that sticker on the windshield? The number on it tells you when to get your oil changed.
  22. This is what you wanted Brett. Enjoy it.
  23. VY looking alright in the early going.
  24. Vikings + Jolly 7 GB 3
  25. I'm amazed Harvin couldn't pull away there
