  1. In general, I do find that Lovie & his staff tend to pull this "we're smarter than you" act that is kind of insulting. OK, you're an NFL coach. People who have watched the game for a long time can tell when your line sucks. It doesn't take a paycheck coming from an NFL team to be able to see that on TV. I understand that we might not be aware of all the schemes & strategies being employed, but when the object is to run the ball straight ahead and you see your OLine being blown 3 yards back, any fool can see you just got beat at the line of scrimmage.
  2. Yeah, this whole "let's pretend nothing's wrong and everyone is crazy" approach isn't going to cut it, Ron.
  3. Just total and complete Lee domination
  4. I understand the reasoning, however, he's shown no ability to actually find OL and it was a fair value trade. Plus, they are in need of linemen as well. Tommie Harris may not play with the Bears after this year. This is three straight seasons of wondering if he'll ever be the same, and he's being held out as a coach's decision. They didn't have any franchise caliber ends, and the tackles are basically all depth. It's not like he was unnecessarily adding to a stacked position. If it was April 2010, and Jerry spent the first pick on a defensive end, it would not be outlandish by any stretch. Any non-1st round OL isn't like to start in year 1 anyway, When I look at the mounting problems on this team, I would think we would want to stockpile picks, not trade them away. That is my problem with the Gaines Adams trade. At least get a lower-round pick back in return. Remember, we were taking what they considered to be a bad 1st round pick off their hands.
  5. I don't really understand why people are picking on him. Isn't he providing insight for every MLB team? If he is, can we really expect in depth analysis that even the hard core Cub fan can latch onto? Hasn't he come a long way with his site since he first started it? People used to mock his trade rumors, now nearly everyone has his page saved for check ups on the trade market. Maybe it is baby steps in comparison to the big corporation sites, but I applaud the effort. Especially when all the other sites become expensive register only sites. I mean he can do whatever he wants. It's his site. But yeah, if he wants a team-by-team analysis series to be something worthwhile, he would need to make each one more involved. Or....find someone who can help. I don't see a problem with calling that weak. It's not like I'm saying I don't like him. He's probably a great guy.
  6. Those are the breaks. I thought you were already in a warm climate?
  7. Hockey is basically the only reason why I watch the Winter Olympics. I watch the skiing. Always have. My dad liked it.
  8. I can't even think about playoffs after last week. I'll need to see a changed team, for multiple weeks, before I'll accept that they are a playoff contender again. I'm not saying they aren't going to make it. But right now I'm really down on these guys. Last week weighs very heavily on me.
  9. I'm not talking about media, I'm talking about fans. Have a look around (not nsbb).
  10. I see the "Cutler sucks" voices are starting to gain momentum now, too. Took all of 6 games.
  11. I've seen it referenced a couple times in a joking manner, but is it really a big deal now? I don't know if it is a big deal or not really, I was just a bit perturbed at the fact that he was called out on it and pretty much was forced into apologizing for it. I guess he's a rookie and doesn't want to rock the boat, but it would have been refreshing to see someone in his position say "big deal, I was hungry. next." Yeah, I agree with you. Talk about overreacting to something that has no relevance.
  12. I'm sitting here trying to think of what would keep me away from watching Favre's return to Lambeau. A massive coronary would do it. Not much less though.
  13. Courtside seats available, only $950.
  14. They had their chance to beat a decent team against Atlanta, but they pissed it away on turnovers. Had a chance doesn't put a notch in the W column. They had a chance in GB too. It still amounts to 1-3 on the road against teams not missing 7 or more players. We'll do great against teams decimated by swine flu.
  15. Looks like their goalie had 12 more saves than Huet, but still lost 3-1. That'll do.
  16. Westbrook out, concussion.
  17. Oh if they don't know whether to be a northerner or a hick to hell with them
  18. They had their chance to beat a decent team against Atlanta, but they pissed it away on turnovers.
  19. At least you wouldn't have driven 5 hours and paid $150 bucks to go to the game with an entire family of Bengals fans who think it's fun to scream "WHO DEY" in the Bears fan's ear every 6 seconds while their team is beating mine by 35 points like I did last week. LOL, ouch man. That sounds nightmarish :)
  20. It will be 3 seasons with no playoffs, if it plays out. Personally, I think that's enough to say goodbye to Lovie. I don't hate him or anything, but losing is losing. The problem I see is the fact that the Bears would have to eat money on Lovie's contract.
  21. Yeah, I caught that one live. Picked my jaw off the floor. Fantastic stuff. edit: you know, in that footage right there he kind of looks like one of those guys in a martial arts film, with the invisible wire pulling them across the room in the air.
  22. If we do lose to these bozos, then it's going to be a very expensive Sunday for me, because things will be thrown. And things will be broken.
  23. They could lose this game. I'd take the Browns and the points. Usually I don't gamble, but that seems like easy money to me.
  24. Yeah, and what's the deal with sleepwalking in the 1st half this year? Every game this team comes out looking like it just woke up after a nap. It was only a matter of time before someone gave them such an early beating that they couldn't recover. Whatever they're doing for game prep, it isn't working.
  25. I know it's not necessarily a popular sentiment, but dammit I also want to see my coach get pissed off when things really suck. I think the whole Shanahan idea would hinge on how much control he wants, and how much Angelo would be willing to give him. My impression was that Shanahan wants too much control for Angelo's taste. But maybe I'm wrong. But I definitely agree with the idea. You have now hitched your wagon to a franchise QB, and a more offense-centered philosophy. After doing this, you cannot now stay with the coach that only knows defense, and the OC who is simply not up to par for the level of offensive football you are expecting to achieve. It's a losing formula. Surely Angelo does know this. Lovie & Turner must go.
