  1. He's on IR, so he can't come back Doesn't make sense to me to list him as inactive then. If he's on IR, then he's like Urlacher. He's done, not inactive.
  2. So close!!!
  3. Are the Bears holding out hope for a very late season Pisa return?
  4. I don't think the Bears have started fast yet, even against the Lions. I'm fully expecting the game to be close at halftime, if not longer.
  5. There's this wave of enthusiam, and sure I feel it too. But then the reality is, there's going to be no changes. Why not? Ricketts has been very clear that he thinks everything is pretty good. He likes Hendry, likes Crane.....likes the payroll where it is. Says we have the talent to win it all right now. Really? Because I'm pretty sure I disagree with just about all of that. If he wants to build a champion, than it seems to me thinking that everything is just great right now isn't all that encouraging a sign.
  6. He said lots of good things. But the reality is, 2010 is slated to be the same as 2009. Same payroll, same manager, same GM, same executive in charge. I mean, if you are really all about the winning, all about building a champion -- then why isn't everyone on the hot seat right now? Status quo is surely the worst way of going about bringing a new culture of championships to the Cubs. To me, that doesn't match up. I agree with Outshined. Until I see the actual changes, and then the actual results, it's just empty words. Nothing more.
  7. Yeah, not only is it small, but the renovations caused it to be delisted from the national registry of historical landmarks. Not a good thing since it was the fact that it was listed as a historical landmark that caused them to work around the framework of the building in the first place. I enjoy going to games there, but there's no question it's butt ugly when viewed from the outside.
  8. I didn't realize they would wear the alternates this weekend, and yet today I am wearing my alternate Tommie Harris jersey. Hmmmm......coincidence, or providence? Got my Bears baseball cap on with Lovie's autograph on it, too. Oh yes, I'm not giving up on this damn team yet. 8-)
  9. http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2009/oct/29/david-moulton-are-cubs-playing-naples-better-deal-/ Read his rationale. It's got more holes in it than Swiss Cheese. I'm not saying the Cubs are definitely doing this at all, but that article does nothing to sway me from thinking it's a possibility.
  10. I'm not sure how that got past the filter, but I LOL'd.
  11. Nice win, but I'm not ready to draw any conclusions. I was impressed by Noah's play, and TT in the 3rd quarter was really nice to see as well. They looked like a solid team, confident. It was fun to watch. Nice job.
  12. Well, for these early ABs anyway, Pedro looks ok. ...what a catch.
  13. Still a dumb comment, but I'm rooting for him anyway
  14. I'm really looking forward to watching the hockey tournament this year, since we'll be able to see it live or close to it. Yeah, that will be pretty cool. Also, I visited Vancouver earlier this year for the first time. It will be kind of neat to see those Olympics where I just was.
  15. Thanks. It seems that the Cubs' plan to use Florida as a whipping stick for Mesa is working, if that's what they are doing.
  16. Yeah, it's kind of hard to understand why that Ricketts spending comment wouldn't draw a follow up question or two. But.....they were probably under time constraints. I'm sure we will hear more about this if it is true.
  17. I think I might actually go to that Circus this year. ...wearing a "where are the damn BULLS." shirt.
  18. He would get stabbed. What about a fake moon with Joe Buck saying "What a disgusting act by Brett Favre" I don't know. Really? See, the thing is -- I think it would be half and half. Half the fans would try to push him away, and the other have would love to embrace him on a leap. That's why I'd love to see him try. See what would really happen. Depends how drunk the fans are... hopefully he just doesnt score... LOL, yeah I remember that :)
  19. The most interesting comment in there is Ricketts approving the spending of more money. To be honest, where the Cubs play their ST games is of no concern to me. It would be interesting if they moved to Florida, but I like Mesa just fine, too. Both are nice places to visit during the cold, hard reality of March in the North.
  20. Excellent way to put it. That was awesome. Carved 'em out like a Jack 'O Lantern, just in time for Halloween :)

  22. You are exaggerating his words and making a mountain out of a molehill. He said they were good football players. He said they all need to be better. He never said they were great and it's stupid to accuse him of saying they were all great. If that's how it sounded to everybody than everyone is an idiot. The Chicago Bears publicly support their players and do not call out individuals. All indications are that they will be making personel changes this week. I really don't understand why you are being so pissy about this. I hate Turner, but what do you honestly expect him to say? I can think of many ways to acknowledge struggles without calling out individuals, so I'm not sure why you seem to be fixated on that piece. But they have been critical of play in the past, and stated such. Angelo himself said that the QB play must improve after the season last year. He didn't mention Kyle Orton. It's very rarely just a player's fault in a vacuum, and I understand that. But to sit there and say they are playing well is just wrong, and insulting. There are many better ways to go. "We've got a good offensive line,'' Turner said. --No, you actually don't and it is obvious. "They're good football players." --Perhaps, but what you are getting out of them currently is not good so it's a meaningless comment. "They're playing well" -- No, they most definitely are not. If you want to know what I think he should do, it would be to simply do what some others on the staff have done -- acknowledge that there are challenges, and that they are working to fix them. Not those statements above. Those are "stick your head in the sand" comments that make me uncomfortable as a Bear fan.
  23. I think it's much less about "we're smarter than you" and much more about "you guys know we can't say that to the media". They aren't going to say the line sucks. They always stay positive and supportive in public. On the other hand, Bill Parcells may be one of the world's biggest "I'm smarter than you" football people, but he's also more than willing to criticize players in public. I just think there are many ways to state these things that are short of "oh hell yea, we know they suck!" I mean Turner just came out and said they're all great. That's insulting. He said they are good football players who were playing well and that the struggles are about more than the offensive line. He didn't say they were all great and I have no idea why you would suggest he did. The Chicago Bears do not publicly criticize their players, they are very publicly supportive of everybody and they will never call out one player or one position group. Come on. You're parsing semantics. You know how Turner's comments sounded to just about everyone. Playing well? Give me a break.

  25. When that guy throws a TD pass in that stadium, with those fans watching -- I want to see a Lambeau leap.
