  1. This is what I am hoping for . If the Cowboys can move to 7-2 after the way the season began things will be looking really good. The D has been great as of late and Jay Ratliff has been a stud. Yeah, that's a pretty scary looking matchup for Rodgers. I expect lots of 3-steppers, quick stuff.
  2. I have no idea how GB would win that game. It's the NFL, anything can happen. But Rodgers might spend the 2nd half watching from a hospital bed.
  3. Buh? So a greater percentage of the nation can get an early start on their Sunday chores?
  4. That is essentially my complaint about Lance. He wanted to be the guy, he's being paid to be an impact guy, and although he hasn't been horrible, he hasn't made a positive impact either. That's OK. Next time a big payday comes along, the Bears just need to rightfully point out that he didn't lift the team in '09 when they really needed him to. Same goes for any of these other guys who might be sticking around.
  5. Really big loss. Bolland seems to be one of our smartest and best 2-way players. I supported his big payday, but now I don't like all that money going to a 23 year old who is already having back surgery. I believe he comes off the cap though, so hopefully we can pick up a number 2 center at some point, otherwise I could see them shifting Sharp back there, which hurts. That Madden signing is getting better by the day. Good deal of criticism can and should be directed at the Hawks for the handling of both Hossa and Bolland injuries. Hopefully this is the end of the injury bug, because the circus trip is going to be a doozy. I hate that darn trip. That's all I care about with Hossa at this point in time.
  6. I get the sense Bradley will hang over our heads for most of the offseason.
  7. Cubs Lack of Offseason Moves thread, you mean.
  8. I hate my freaking football life. Where did it all go wrong?
  9. I don't really see much either way from those photos. He probably had the ball still in hand, but I'm pretty sure if this was Kobe the call would have been upheld. The NBA is well-known as a shady place for fair play.
  10. Gawd. They're actually playing tomorrow. I could use another bye week. I'm thinking Gore tears the living daylights out of 'em. This one could be really ugly.
  11. That's weird. I hope he's not ill or something.
  12. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/5893/tracing-the-bears-defensive-decline Lovie is a huge disappointment as a DC. With his rep around the league, it's pretty amazing how bad he's been calling that D.
  13. Yeah, as far as Davis' comments: if the Bears don't like it, then [expletive] do something about it Thursday night.
  14. That's a pretty good article from a former player with some insight into what might be happening with the Bears & Packers. Thanks for posting it.
  15. I'm starting to wince at your fearless predictions Fred
  16. I'm finding it difficult to believe that 11 years after Jordan left Chicago, a superstar player would still be playing in Jordan's shadow. I'm sure there would be comparisons, but who really cares? LeBron doesn't strike me as the kind of player that would avoid something out of fear. That said, I can't imagine him coming to Chicago.
  17. So how do you all feel about Orton's recent struggles? I, for one, hope he stabilizes and continues to be a good option for Denver. In Kyle's defense, those were two pretty darn good defenses he went up against these past couple weeks. Although I do note: late in the game, both the Bears and the Broncos needed their QBs to engineer a TD drive to win against the Steelers D. Cutler was able to, and Kyle wasn't.
  18. Baaaaad INT for Kyle, Pitt capitalizes.
  19. Tirico says Pittsburgh is full of "somewhat anonymous, high-impact defensive linemen." We on the other hand are full of all too well-known, highly disappointing defensive linemen.
  20. Right. Yesterday Buck kept talking about how great it was for AZ that they were able to get the running game going and protect their QB. I'll bet even the Cardinals realized doing that against the Bears was nothing to get excited about. There were several shots on TV of Cards players laughing on the sidelines, with incredulous looks on their faces. Now, I don't know what they were really laughing about. But it seems like we can make a pretty good guess. Teams like Cincy and Zona have to be in disbelief at just how easy it was to completely blow up the Bears. I mean, the Bears used to at least put forth a respectable effort if nothing else. Now they can't even say that. I'd be giddy with laughter too. It's like playing against empty jerseys, laid down on the field. There's just nothing there. Lol @ the Browns for only scoring six points against empty jerseys. If Anderson could complete a simple screen pass that doesn't fall 3 yards short, they would have. The Browns seem to be willing to trip over empty jerseys.

  22. Alex Smith is fine just as long as the defense prepares for the other guy. Maybe the 9ers should just claim they are starting Hill every week, then bring Smith in for the 2nd quarter on.
  23. Yeah, this is a catstrophic season for the Bears on so many levels. It throws all the plans into limbo, now you've got coaches who should be fired but won't, holes that need to be filled but can't (too few draft picks until 2011). This is just a disaster, plain and simple. Trainwreck at Halas Hall.
  24. I also agree with UMFan, the loss of Urlacher has been huge. It's one of those things where you can cover for it for a little while, but eventually not having a player of his calibre right in the middle of all the action is going to hurt you. I think we can all agree that Brian isn't the freakish player that he used to be, but he still meant an awful lot to that defense and it really, really shows that he's not in there. It's just one more thing that has served to slay us this season. There are other things obviously, but that's among them.
  25. I'm thinking 6-10 now, with remaining wins against DET and STL. All the other games look like sure beatdowns now with this bunch.
