  1. Gotta take the fun out of sports when you know everything that will happen months in advance.
  2. So the Bulls should just give up because someone will be competing for the same players?
  3. I love the title of this thread. It's so unassuming. Not a hint of what this thing was going to eventually turn into for Tiger.
  4. I don't think anyone outside of Chicago would've called the NFC championship game a classic. It wasn't that competitive save for a stretch in the 3rd quarter and Rex was pretty awful. I'm probably short changing the Seattle game a bit. That was a good one. But the games I was talking about were utter insanity. The MNF game is still one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen in sports. Edit: Coming back to win from a 20 point half time deficit without scoring an offensive touchdown plus Denny's classic meltdown. For a regular season game, it had it all. Blowouts in my team's favor > winning close ones But yea, the MNF game was obviously one of the most incredible games of all time...I remember so much of that game and of what I was doing while watching it. No question about the MNF game. But I really loved the '06 playoffs, until the Super Bowl. But I shouldn't be the one comparing Bears memories to Bulls memories. Full disclosure: I find pretty much everything that happens with the Bears to be more memorable than what happens with the Bulls. Other than the Jordan years.
  5. Really? There were 2 fantastic playoff victories from the Bears that season. Those don't mean much to you? Can't go with you there.
  6. I think so as well but, could that be another max FA? Wade and Bosh for example? My understanding is that they would really need to gut things out to get two max FA's under the cap next year. One guy on CBS sports wrote an article claiming it could happen. At this point I'm not really sure. I certainly don't know what will happen.
  7. If he comes back and wins, people will find a way to like him again. They'll reconcile it in their minds. If he can't stop being a male whore, and keeps getting caught, and can't win tournaments......then he's going to fade away as a cautionary tale.
  8. I don't think adding Wade alone makes us a champion. It would need to be Wade plus something, IMO.
  9. Yeah, this isn't really about the legality of his behavior.
  10. The point is that it is pointless to trust anything an athlete says when it comes to PEDs. Regardless of when or what he said.
  11. Maxim spread time!
  12. He cussed a whole bunch, looked up and realized it was on TV, then cussed a couple more times! And NBC just kept rolling. Hah, that was funny. Then White pulls off his best trick with no reason to other than for the fans. This was really America's day today. Lots 'o gold for the better-known names.
  13. I know pretty much nothing about snowboarding, but even I can see how much more air Shaun White gets on his tricks. That's pretty amazing, these are the best the world has to offer and there's really no comparison.
  14. I think when a team tanks it reflects on everything, and even those key players don't look so attractive as they did when wins were being racked up. Maybe it's not the only factor, but it exists.
  15. Geo really is thin. Good for him. Hopefully it helps him.
  16. Some of our best years have started out as a big question mark in February. I'm not counting this team out until I see the actual results. I may be bracing for mediocrity, but I'm still hoping for a surprise -- and it could happen.
  17. Or those of us that Tivo the afternoon events so we can watch it tonight, but yet come to this thread to talk about...yeah, I got nothing. That's alright with me. I'm used to watching 90% of the Olympics on tape delay anyway, after seeing the results already scroll across ESPN's bottom line. Spoilering Olympic results is kind of a norm most years by default.
  18. I wish that was a simple "either/or" proposition, but I question whether it is. I could see "tanking" this season, or significantly weaking our performance, as a contributor to making it more difficult to sign FA's this offseason. In short, I think we're dealing with a moving target here, and we seem to be a little caught in the middle. We can't just unload a ton of players to get cap space and then suck the rest of the year. And we can't keep what we have because it's not good enough.
  19. Damn straight. I'm all about the Eco stuff, but when it starts messing with sports, ship in the guzzlers from the other side of the mountains dammit.
  20. That sounds plausible.
  21. Keep in mind that rosters are frozen, so even "agreements" are fluid. I know the rosters are frozen, so rumors about the Hawks will preoccupy this thread. So I found it interesting, and it seems the Hawks are planning on not being quiet when the Olympics are over. There is no way anyone would take Huet. That's the problem.
  22. Sounds like Angelo wants someone that will go along with what he wants now that he is in "save my job at all costs" mode. If I was trying to save my job and had experienced failure for 3 years straight, I would definitely be making changes.
  23. Hub thinks it's a bad move because..........wait for it...... .....Bobby was the one guy he could get info from for his reporting. :banghead: :banghead:
  24. Hmmm. I agree he's better than Vinny but I'm not sure he would have been the right guy to work with Rose.
  25. Good to see Bode return to the podium after his disaster last Olympics. Snowboard cross seems kinda meh.
