  1. Bah, now the sleezebag gets to penetrate and consummate. Hide your daughters.
  2. I've never been a big believer in Flacco and this just validates it for me.
  3. This is a meltdown on a level seldom seen. They're just handing the ballgame to the Steelers on a silver platter.
  4. Players don't sway me very often. It's teams I care about. And Pittsburgh could use a knock down a couple rungs on the ladder, IMHO. I don't want to see them near a Super Bowl for awhile, and I'll thank the Ravens to do the honors today by holding on to this lead.
  5. It certainly might. And by the way, in case anyone's wondering, Pittsburgh fans are much more likely to be booing their own team in a situation like this (I can just hear my brother in law cursing out Tomlin and Mendenhall).
  6. I don't think I've ever seen a coach blow all challenges in the 1st quarter before. I guess the last one was a tough call, but the first was a challenge for essentially 10 yards of field position.
  7. It's because you like to apply reason and logic to stuff, and the NFL just doesn't allow us to do that with any reliable consistency.
  8. I think I'll be able to actually see the game tonight, so that will be nice. Not sure if it's a superstation WGN game, but usually the Saturday night ones are
  9. It would crazy as all hell if we wound up with a Seattle/GB NFC Championship game. That would just seal the deal for me. Shut down Vegas. Betting on the NFL is an overt act of insanity.
  10. The Simmons article is nonsense. Seattle may very well win. Not because of those reasons though. If you can call them reasons.
  11. He's got a point that's worthy of discussion, I think. But....I also immediately thought of Ted Lilly when I read his piece. It's not necessarily going to translate badly. And Wrigley is not always a bad park for fly ball pitchers. Lots of people make the mistake of thinking this. It's a dynamic environment. Some days balls fly out, some days they die short of the warning track. I'm not sure how this will translate with Garza. I guess we'll just have to see. But for sure, the idea that fly ball pitcher = failure at Wrigley doesn't wash.
  12. I miss the old Soul, who used to be just like erik316. What happened to that guy? he mellowed out once he got into fred's age bracket Now that is probably true, and becoming more so. It happens. 8-)
  13. I miss the old Soul, who used to be just like erik316. What happened to that guy? Wait until the lithium wears off.
  14. I still like you, Randy.
  15. I'm actually relaxed for this game, win or lose. It's the playoffs, I think we've accomplished more this season than I thought we would. Yeah, it would suck losing to the Seahawks because they've gone further than they were supposed to as well, but -- to hell with it. This is the nature of the beast. It's a short term league. You do your best, see where the chips fall.
  16. What is this whole "what optimistic Cub fans are ignoring" bit, anyway? He's writing this article to make sure Cub fans don't get too optimistic? Who cares?
  17. So because he isn't good enough at baseball to succeed at the major league level, his opinion is wrong? It's sour grapes from a guy who seemingly hasn't realized yet that he's just not going to make it. I actually didn't say his opinion is wrong.
  18. Anything on the smurf turf is awesome. It really isn't. It's terrible to watch. The unique factor got old a long time ago. I still love it. I know I'm in the minority, but I'm fine with that. I feel like my TV is at risk of turning blue permanently.
  19. I must have missed the Seattle vitriol when I visited there awhile back. They seemed really low key to me. Not particularly confrontational. Maybe if I would have worn my Bears hat they would have hated on me, heh.
  20. The steakhouse is pretty standard for guys who guide their teams to Super Bowls. I've been to Elway's place. Pricey, just OK IMHO. btw, bravo LeGere.
  21. i thought it was a surprisingly good article from a guy who likes to over-dramatize every single subject he writes about. I will admit this made me chuckle: So what's the truth? "He is what he is," Olsen says. Not exactly something for your tombstone. :)
  22. He took the opportunity to get off a sinking ship in a city that would never accept anything but Elway II to go to a team 2 years off a Super Bowl run with an actual defense. I don't see why that makes him a dick. Hell, it's absolutely no worse that what Elway did, or what Eli did, or what several other pro athletes have done to get out of bad situations. Agreed. I don't think it makes him a prick. You don't think it makes him a prick. But it's understandable that a guy that's looking for an excuse to dislike him because he won't engage him in a conversation would use this and the other situations as a reason to think he is a prick. I'm sorry, but I don't find it to be understandable when someone looks for an excuse to dislike someone, when the reality is he's just butthurt because the guy won't give him the copy that he wants.
  23. She's not too bad to look at, so yeah I'll admit it was a good thing to include her :)
  24. That's pretty funny. I find it to be an old parody. Not funny anymore. Maybe in 1992 it still was.
