  1. He didn't get it! Wow!
  2. I'll gladly root for whatever scenario helps the Bears most, including rooting for the Packers tomorrow.
  3. Would have been, I think, if the Hawks would have gotten the TD there. 14 points is still possible.
  4. I wonder how many people ignored this game, figuring it's Saturday afternoon and the Seahawks had no chance :)
  5. Saints might want to consider waking the hell up.
  6. It didn't turn out to be a big deal, but the refs really can't be giving teams de facto timeouts like that. That was BS, Carroll was right be pissed about it.
  7. What we have here is a football game. This is turning out to be entertaining. At least the Saints will need to do more than sleepwalk to win this one.
  8. Well, a couple good things though: The Kaner steal/goal was shades of last season. His ability to do those things is one of the reasons the Hawks have been a feared team. They gave up the late goal, but kept fighting and pulled out the win. Can't give up because something bad happens. They need to keep fighting and scratching, just like they did last night.
  9. Alright. Let's see if these bozos can even compete. Tossing INTs isn't going to prolong the competitiveness of this affair :)
  10. Kaner just made me think of last year, if only for a little while.
  11. Geez, they lost to the 6ers? Yikes man. That's not good.
  12. maybe he's just terrified of playing for Carolina, doesn't believe its a good fit for him. I'm thinking maybe he's as good as his word: he really does want to complete his degree, and worry about it later. Add in the fluid nature of the NFL CBA for next year, and he's taking what he knows he'll have lined up versus the uncertainty of the NFL (both in terms of the labor, and just trying to make it). I guess I don't blame him, if that's really the case.
  13. He actually said this team doesn't have a lot of talent? That's not something you normally hear from GMs. In about a 2 minute period he said they lacked talent, but then went on to say they are the most talented team from top to bottom that the Bears have had under his watch. Basically he was just talking like most GM's do and saying nothing of importance. Sounds like something for people to freak out about in lieu of an actual football game.
  14. Absolutely. And I'm not saying they should be taken lightly. But those 6 losses do show that they are clearly a flawed team as well (undoubtedly injuries are a factor). And I thought this morning that they might be being overhyped by some of the national media. Though admittedly, I've seen more Eagles picks by experts today than I thought I would. For whatever reason the media seems to think Green Bay has played amazing (ESPN said something like this the other day) to close out the season and I don't really know where that comes from. I've actually seen people pick them based off of this. I don't think there's very much depth applied to these opinions. The Packers have arguably a top QB (I think he is), and a solid defense. That's going to be enough for most people to think they'll go far. Maybe it will be, too.
  15. Well, the Packers are a 6 seed that is top 10 in both offense and defense. I think they've got solid units for that low a seed. That's probably one reason why they are getting so much love. Plus, people tend to think that superior QB play will show its value in the playoffs, and Rodgers is a top QB. That said, they're one dimensional on offense, and we've all seen them put up tepid performances such as in the Lions game, and even last week against the Bears. They're flawed, but so is everyone else. I give up trying to predict this stuff. I've got the Eagles in this game but I really have no clue what is going to happen.
  16. If Boozer was a young player then that would be one thing, but at this point in his career? I don't think benching him for a bit against NJ is the magic pill to turn on defensive abilities that are just waiting for the right button to be pushed.
  17. Of that list, I guess I would go with Moreland if he's willing.
  18. I think they can walk out the front door, grab the first black man they see, interview him, and hence satisfy the rule. Certainly there would be backlash from something like that but I've never seen anything more than just "you need to interview one minority candidate." No they can't. Has to be a qualified candidate that can be legitimately able to handle the job. Well that's a bit subjective now isn't it. Has to be an NFL assistant or coordinator. Better? I assume the same would apply to a college coach in those same positions. Yes sir. So I grab the nearest black man, hire him as assistant, then interview him for HC. OK! I'm done now :)

  20. Petro and Mariano were both born Nov 29th. Hitters -- doesn't look very good :( Minnie Minoso!

  22. Well that sucks. I didn't see most of the game, but then I logged in on an Internet feed and noticed Booze was on the bench. I assumed it was because he fouled out. Sheesh. What the hell do we have this guy for if it isn't going to be to win us games?
  23. And another awful day for the Carolina Panthers. Somebody check on Andy Poor Andy. Of course, Carolina's in good shape to get the top pick again next year too. There's your silver lining.
  24. And they kind of screwed it up. But yes, that's my thinking as well. I know you don't agree USS :)
  25. It just sounds like this is very preliminary at this point, and nobody really knows how good or terrible it would even be.
