  1. That is the most important thing to me. He's a much better option than Sharp to be the 2nd center in a playoff series, matching up against opposing top line guys. Sharp is an offense only guy in my opinion, and this team doesn't really lack the ability to score. Bolland is also much younger and locked up at an affordable rate. Sharp is more expensive and if they have any intention of keeping him beyond next year will be an overpaid 30 something. If they don't intend on keeping him longterm then they should trade him. I thought what we did in the offseason would get us through this season. Do we have to trade someone? Because if not, then I'd say let these guys play the season and then get what you can after the year is over.
  2. Yeah, all the Cubs fault. If only I could have used my superior stats intellect, I would have been an all star. LOL.
  3. Again, reporters don't like him because he won't play their games. Personally, I find no problem with how he acts. And even if I did, it doesn't matter. Win me games, thanks. That's it. Be a jerk all you want, but post wins for Chicago.
  4. I wouldn't believe a word Carroll says... Or Lovie, for that matter. Maybe he's telling the truth, maybe he's blowing smoke. There's no way to know, so I ignore pre-game comments on how a team is going to do something.
  5. Look at San Jose. Wow.
  6. This thread went.......in a strange direction. I'll just note that Favre's had himself one hell of a year.
  7. I may have been wrong about the records. I'll admit to underestimating the Bears (I can actually admit when I'm wrong, unlike a lot of people), but I still think if they face off for the NFC Championship, the Packers win. And if they don't, I will have no issues coming on here and admitting I was wrong and the Bears were the better team this year. Yeah, you've got that "Bears still suck" song queued up, waiting to be played again. Admit it.
  8. Finally found somewhere with his touchback stats.... http://dallasnews.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=7520&team=3 He's got like double the touchbacks of last year, but his average distance last year was like half a yard more. Weird. Weird. That's not how I've been perceiving it.
  9. The number of kicks going into the end zone is certainly up. I don't know about placement, but it seemed very clear to me that the distance increased significantly.
  10. I'm interested in Wright too, but I'm feeling like his most likely outcome will be as an often injured safety. I'm basing that on the fact that he does hit hard, and he's been injured alot in his first year. I'm not sold that his body will hold up to his style of play. Hopefully I'm wrong and he develops. He could be a real find for us if so.
  11. Nice article, thanks. I think he wanted to rank Taylor lower, but just didn't for some reason. The comments didn't match the rank...
  12. The basics are this: home teams have gone 234-110 in the playoffs since the AFL merger. That's a rock-solid .680 winning percentage. Dome teams, meanwhile, are 27-15 (.642), including last week's indoor wins by the Cardinals and Cowboys. But that number is very misleading: the prolific statistical oddity that is Kurt Warner is 7-0 at home in his domes in St. Louis and Arizona. The rest of the indoor quarterbacks and indoor teams of the world have gone just 20-15 (.571) in their very own home arenas. This was written a year ago yesterday. Of course, since then, the Saints went 2-0 at home in a dome, the Vikings went 1-0, the Colts went 2-1 (loss this weekend included), so its 32-16 now (.667 winning percentage). Still, road teams actually fare better in domes. NOT THIS TIME. Ryan will own. Turner will burn. Falcons will prey! CAW CAWWWWW ACAWWW!
  13. They have Starks and have no running game. Or are we now counting 1 good game as the gospel? Well he had a good game against the Niners too. Then for whatever reason, he fell out of favor with McCarthy and was on the inactive list for the next couple of weeks before suiting up against the Bears. He's easily the most impressive back that we've seen this season. Of course, that's not really an indicator of how he really measures up in the league but more of an indictment as to how bad our other RB's are. 18 carries for 73 yards. Barely 4 yards per carry. Granted, it's better than their season average, but hardly a monumental game. When you've seen Fraction Jackson as the featured back for most of the season, you'll gladly take 18 for 73. What I was getting at is that Starks isn't really a special player. If it hadn't been him, the Packers might very well have found another similar guy. It bothers me a bit that Biggs framed the article by saying "imagine the Packers without a running game" -- and then the suggestion was if Starks hadn't been screwed up by the Bears, the Packers wouldn't have had anyone. That logic doesn't follow at all.
  14. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/bears-told-packers-rb-starks-they-were-drafting-him.html That's kind of embarrassing. I expect to see Starts have at least 150 yards rushing if the Bears and Packers meet next week. Starks would have never gotten a shot with the Bears. I actually had Starks on my 1st mock before the Bears signed Chester Taylor. At that point, no real reason to draft him with Khalil Bell and Taylor on the roster still. Can draft a Starks in the 6th round every year if you want. Biggs apparently thinks if the Packers didn't have Starks, they'd have no running game. Which is pretty ridiculous IMO.
  15. At least they didn't go to Florida or USC. Or Ohio State. Auburn's not likely to be able to keep it up for long, so I don't even have much problem with it if they did cheat. Some other school will now "get creative" in response. Maybe even Ole Miss, who knows. This is like complaining that someone in the Tour de France took EPO.
  16. Rose has clearly improved, too.
  17. I would have preferred Oregon, but I'm happy it wasn't Florida or Ohio State or one of the other typical powerhouse teams. As for Auburn being cheaters. Come on. They're all cheating in some way shape or form, I thought we'd pretty much established that on here.
  18. Bulls shot 92% from the line tonight, too. That's more like it.
  19. Next year maybe?
  20. Oregon can't get out of their own way.
  21. Nope. Killer 3rd Quarter, Rose mastery, and all is right with the world.
  22. Holy living crapolia. I wub you Rose.
  23. Good game. Let's see if the Ducks can get it back.
  24. I guess I would call that an answer.
  25. wrong thread!
