  1. Do they have 1 safety on their roster that would start on any other team in the NFL right now? Well Mundy started all last year for NYG and MD started all last year for GB. now i'm not arguing either is the answer long-term for the Bears, but I answered your question. That was last year, and they both got extremely low contracts Mundy (2/$3 with $800k guaranteed) and Jennings (1/$745k with $0 guaranteed) meaning that basically no one else wanted them, particularly Jennings who took $0 guaranteed. Both of those defenses were pretty weak last year (Giants 18, Packers 25--per pro football reference). Again, Fuller will be fine, I just don't see how they could have passed on a first round Safety with this group of safeties on their roster. Yeah, I can't pretend to know Emery's thought processes, but I assume the reason is something along the lines of really feeling like Fuller is going to be special, and also knowing that Tillman's just about gone, and knowing how important Tillman has been to the success of the defense -- they jumped at the chance to draft his replacement, and are convinced it will work out that way. Probably thought one of the other safeties would drop to the 2nd round, too. Remember -- there were 4 safeties drafted after the Bears. I'm betting that was somewhat of a surprise to them. So they took a gamble on that, and it didn't work out. Still doesn't mean they shouldn't have drafted Fuller to me, though. If this is the guy you think will cornerstone the DB group for many years to come, and you really feel he's going to be special. Yes, you go for it.
  2. No argument here. Come on now, be nice. It's happy time for everyone. Reality doesn't come crashing down until September.
  3. Vikings have done a great job no doubt
  4. Yep Those horrible, horrible safeties looked serviceable just one season earlier. The difference was DLine.
  5. Really? You think Tillman will teach him how to take his job? He's on a one year deal, yeah I assume Tillman isn't long for the Bears, and he knows that
  6. Fuller will learn from one of the best, as well. Better to bring him in now while Peanut is still here.
  7. Probably a good idea right at the tail end of the round. What did they give up for him?
  8. http://cdn2.sbnation.com/assets/3782191/packwin.gif Glad the Bears don't have a GM who knee jerks away from a potentially great CB because of one play. There are still plenty of picks left, relax.
  9. Michael Wright basically said the other day that the Bears don't hold safeties to a high regard. Could be the biggest downfall of Emery's tenure if this is true and a big mistake. I'm kind of surprised to see that many go. Not that safety isn't important, but I think teams can get by with less than earth shattering top talent there.
  10. I'll give Manziel all the credit in the world if he can succeed in Cleveland. He'll deserve it.
  11. Now I wonder if Emery trades up in the 2nd
  12. I don't see how anyone could be surprised. He was brought in for a private workout, he's one of the top prospects in an area of need. Heck, raw had him pegged as one of the top 6 most likely just a couple pages back.
  13. And then stuff'll change! Hope n change. Ok, mostly just hope.
  14. I get it. Hope it holds true. Don't like anything about this one, that's all. I'm willing to write it off if they are
  15. I thought the Wild would win one, but I kinda hoped it would be the next one, and not this one.
  16. Stop it, mister jinxy jinx
  17. Time to go home. Swing after you hear the pop
  18. Ramirez' slider was horrible. He's lucky that's all he gave up
