  1. I hate getting jerked all over the weekly schedule. Look, NFL, I'm around every Sunday at noon.
  2. Sheesh, that boy doesn't miss
  3. Not exactly the start I was hoping for
  4. It means the little experiment is over, and yes - his career with the Bears is over. He's lucky he is even still here. I think he knows that given that he's trying really hard to change his physical profile. Will it be enough? Don't know, but I suspect he will struggle.
  5. Hmm honestly to me the difference isn't all that shocking. He dropped a few pounds, kind of looks a little slim now without much muscle
  6. The thing is though, I could see someone thinking it's a veiled reference to the Boston Marathon bombings (since the term was thrown around when that happened).

    Rizzo

What? Why? Yeah, while he hasn't been a star by any stretch, he's been worth what they're paying him, for sure. It's not like he's making $20MM a year. Maybe he thinks Beane feels he could have gotten more than 5 WAR out of the 18MM they've paid him so far. He might be right, but it's probably not something that's haunted him thus far. Last year was kind of sparse though, wasn't it? Looks like he's off to a good start this year.
  8. Certainly they aren't getting the bounces they got last year, but all three goes on Saturday were deflected shots from the point. They got all the good fortune they could ask for on Saturday and [expletive] all over it. They suck in OT -- I don't have a reason, but it's pretty clear it's a real thing. And it's killing them in this series. Yeah, they aren't getting the same luck like Banedon says but they also just can't win if the game goes past regulation.
  9. It's good fun to watch a non-Cub explode in anger on the field, so I see no problem with Gomez going all crazy n' stuff.
  10. Looking at all the positive posts above this reminds me of the Bears/Vikings this year when people were discussing our path to the NFC title game during the 3rd quarter and bottoming out for a high draft pick at the end. Yeah it's been a roller coaster around here for a little while with bulls & bears, that's for sure.
  11. Man this game went from hopeful to hopeless incredibly fast
  12. Might as well get used to it now because if you depend on WGN to watch games that's kinda over very soon. I know it. I'm doing the mlb.tv thing now too. I still think it's kind of crappy to have holiday baseball on the smallest outlet of the bunch though.
  13. Yay, Sunday Cubs baseball on WCIU. Enjoy the game. If you can.
  14. Being a crappy OT team isn't turning out to be helpful
  15. It feels like what we used to do to other teams, to be honest
  16. 4 days old? That article has been written at least once each year since I can remember.
  17. I'm just talking about the lunatics who will be freaking out about a loss to the Marlins in September when we're 7 games up. Because they exist. Yeah, well a little fan insanity over a good team is a hell of a lot better than the walking dead routine we've got right now. Bring it on.
  18. When the Cubs are good again I'm going to rub all kinds of Cards/Brewer/Reds fans the wrong way over it.
  19. You're not really counting the Hawks out after a 3 OT loss in game 1 on the road are you? No I'm not counting the Hawks out yet -- just saying that I can't see the Blues getting the Cup in any event. I probably worded that poorly.
  20. Can't see this Blues team getting very far, so after the Ducks/Sharks/Avs take them out, they can kiss our 2 Lord Stanley's Cups in the ass and go back to their WT hole of city.
  21. I'm tired. And at work.
  22. They really wanted to play even more hockey tonight. Asked for it. Getting it.
  23. He's got less to work with than Sveum had in his first year. Let's see the development of the young guys, and if the trend isn't good - bring in the next guy Bunting thing still bugs me though. That's two managers in a row who seem to be big believers. What? Didn't Sveum go so far as to have a bunting competition?
