  1. Nope. He told the truth. And with the Cubs, telling the truth can get you destroyed.
  2. Cripes, even a Top 5 pick will probably net a great player. Next year's draft crop looks insane at the top. You can thank NY again. We could be in the Conference Finals next season and still net a top 5 pick :)
  3. 2001 Texas Rangers went 72-90 spending 107 million for that season. I'm thinking the one of the Mets' teams might take the cake. We aren't winning 72 games, so we've got the Rangers beat, though our salary isn't quite the ARod-bloated 107mil.
  4. Me too. I'm thinking there will be little if any changes until someone higher on the food chain fires Hendry. Jimbo has lost all sense of reality---he's stuck in a corner ruled by his own ego, unable to accept that his plain is a grade A failure. He's not changing anything.
  5. I'm quite sure we are. Also, how's that double play record coming? We should be able to grab that one too.
  6. Carniby. Welcome to the ranks of the damned. I'm quite sorry, but there is no cure, you are a Cub fan for life :) You got any good ways to get decent Badger tix?? Nobody wants to hear my random thoughts. Besides, I don't want to cause Tim to have to spend the remaining hours of the 4th of July deleting inappropriate words. Don't worry. I'm a Cub fan. We know how to bottle it all up inside. Forever. 8)
  7. Thanks for causing me to laugh so hard that my drink came through my nose. LMAO. Ditto. larhur, you were joking.......right?
  8. Dusty still doesn't have his players. They're all on the Mets, Tigers, and White Sox. Just give Dusty his players, man.
  9. And Baker, Clines, and Hendry should be given a lethal dose of fire, hell, burning sulfer, and explosives for ruining CPatt and then making it sound like it was all his fault.
  10. I think they should take the same approach with him that the Astros have taken with Everett. His defense is pretty good, his bat just needs to catch up now. He's still only 23 so he's got time to develop. I hope you're right. Could be looking at another washout with the coaching staff working with him though.
  11. Though I'd like to wait a little longer, it is starting to look more & more like Cedeno just isn't a major league quality starting SS.
  12. Alright Cubbie fans here it comes.... Wait for it.... Wait for it!!!
  13. Not quite, the Bulls get $8M in cap space next offseason if they trade Tyson for Brown, about half the cap space they started with this offseason. 8 mill can get you quite a nice player...plus we'll have Odem. :wtg: If all works out then, in terms of cap space, it's essentially $8m for Ben Wallace. I'll take that anyday. Only a fool wouldn't. He's 31---not all that old for a 4 year deal. 31 is not the "old man" that some people think it is. Shaq's 34, and still was quite effective in the finals. Plus the sorely lacking championship experience on the Bulls----Wallace instantly makes that a thing of the past. Ben should be quite productive for at least the next 2 seasons. I'm sure there will be a trailoff throughout----but there's just no question he's a massive, massive upgrade from Chandler.
  14. Don't forget his awesome free throw shooting. Yeah, and his rebounding and defense too. Obviously the Bulls didn't sign him for the hope that he would put up 20-25 ppg. I'm just pointing out that the guy has a couple big time weaknesses. *shrugs* Worked pretty good for the Pistons on that Championship run. I didn't see anyone complaining about Ben's scoring back then.
  15. Yes, it will be terrible to lose all the scoring we were getting from Chandler. I never said it would be terrible to lose Chandler. In fact, I think its necessary in light of this signing. I am saying I think we overpaid for him. I just want to know where the scoring around the rim is going to come from. Purely perimeter teams rarely go far in the playoffs. Well yeah, hence my comment. Bulls aren't going to keep Wallace and Chandler. They're going to take the big upgrade in Wallace and use Tyson to grab a different type of player. Although, I might like to see Chandler with Big Ben as a mentor for a season. As for Wallace's age, he's 32. That gives him roughly 3-4 years of solid play left. Pretty much perfect, and it matches what we signed him for. This is akin to the Dennis Rodman signing in the mid '90s. Except without the attitude problems. Wallace will dominate the middle. We will have plenty of scoring from elsewhere (already do IMO---I didn't see a "scoring deficiency" from the Bulls last year at all, and we weren't getting any points from Chandler that's for sure). Deal Chandler and we'll have plenty of flexibility for the future. Plus we've got a top 5 pick in next year's draft, even if we make the finals. This is brilliant.
  16. Yes, it will be terrible to lose all the scoring we were getting from Chandler.
  17. I'm not so sure. I don't think its clear even from the replay that Ronny got the bag with his foot. The point is, players get the call lots of times even if their foot never gets within a 10 inch radius of the bag. That was never the point. I quoted the wrong post  I meant to quote texascub's post about the FSN SW replays. Players might get that call from time to time, but you certainly can't rely on always getting that call. It's called fundamentals; if you get your foot clearly on the bag, you don't even need to worry about which way the call is going to go. Unless you told the Ump to go to a restaurant and the service was really bad.
  18. I'm not so sure. I don't think its clear even from the replay that Ronny got the bag with his foot. The point is, players get the call lots of times even if their foot never gets within a 10 inch radius of the bag. Maybe, but as a rule of thumb the close calls always go to the home team. Unless you're the Cardinals.
  19. I'm not so sure. I don't think its clear even from the replay that Ronny got the bag with his foot. OK. WORST CALL IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.
  20. WORST CALL IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.
  21. Did the Bulls get him or something? yeap. 8) 8)
  22. I know. I was thinking the same thing. This hitting "philosophy." *shakes head*
  23. ESPN reports, Ben Wallace to sign with the Bulls for a reported $52million contract. Wowza Dowza. Pax is serious as a heart attack. Bulls will be making a run in '07!
