  1. Update: 847-650-1083
  2. Young. Cuban. Power. Does he play anything resembling serviceable defense at 3rd? Could be a bridge to Bryant, and then share left with Coghlan. No. Have that thought exit your mind immediately. The White Sox DFA'd him to make room for Gordon Beckham, that says enough right there.
  3. Fort Wayne, they don't use the League though.
  4. Unfortunately the Bulls don't have a D-league team, so there's no way to do that to assure him minutes. He's just going to have to score 15 points in 90 seconds for Thibs to trust him on the floor. I was wrong in thinking that he would be the 1st rookie to have any playing time under Thibs (not including when injuries forced him to).
  5. Depends how they run it, IMO. If they run it with a DE essentially in the typical 3-technique position like a 4-3 under tackle, it would be the same thing that Ratliff did very successfully last year (and what the Niners ran a lot with Justin Smith, who is about the same size as Ratliff). If they are running the D with both ends lined up over the OTs, then I think that would be a problem for Ratliff. I'm hoping Ego can bulk up to possibly be able to make it in the traditional NT mold, even if they run the 3 technique, Ratliff likely won't hold up. They'll likely go with some sort of hybrid with both 3-4 and 4-3 fronts. It would give Sutton a chance to have an impact. If they can get one of... Williams-AZ Knighton Ratliff with his age and the 1+mil will likely come off the books.
  6. How does that compare to a few years ago?
  7. So I'm assuming the point total is still 2000? Also, who do I send the check to and how much?
  8. Aaron Kromer is the new offensive line coach in Buffalo.
  9. Illinois football is always mismanaged, I doubt I can fault here though considering he played them for that contract.
  10. Lebeau is not headed to Arizona now.
  11. That was a hell of a steal. Im sure that title of co-defensive coordinator will give him a bigger salary considering both Missouri and Illinois underpay their assistants. They should have promoted him when Memphis considered him for DC.
  12. worse look: yanking an offer from a commit two weeks prior to NSD http://www.tennessean.com/story/vols/2015/01/21/marques-ford-decommits-tennessee/22123845/ He'll likely end up in Tampa or CMU.
  13. They picked the wrong directional Michigan school, I love Fleck from WMU. It would cost a ton to get him but it would be worth it.
  14. As critical as I was concerned with the hiring process, Im pleased with who've they brought in and proven wrong.
  15. Obviously I am happy about this. His ability to read defenses and play calling allows the QB to have several options better than almost anyone. McCoy and McCarthy are there as well. I do think there is the potential for him to rely on the pass too much.
  16. I'm guessing Hoke ends up at South Carolina and Donatell is here.
  17. This is just what the League wanted heading into the Super Bowl. It didn't matter but hopefully they lose some picks given their history and not just fire the equipment manager and fine a billionaire. NFL network not saying a word.
  18. I'd take Fowler, Ray then Dupree, there's quite a drop-off after the 1st 2.
  19. I worshiped those guys. I wanted to be Dent; used to pretend I was him while playing tackle in the snow with my friends growing up. And seeing Jimmy like that is awful. I appreciate Ditka's continuing advocacy for former players, but let's be honest here: he was undoubtedly pushing seriously injured guys to play through their ailments. I realize we are more evolved and knowledgeable in the present day, but I can't believe these guys were completely ignorant of the potential consequences. He knew and he allowed them to play but they ultimately accepted that risk of present and future consequences. With that said, given the financial benefits rewarded to ownership, I think there should be a greater distribution of wealth to players experiencing trauma caused by football. There's a reason why the NFL has lied and covered up the concussion issue and it's not solely about future involvement. They know they stand to lose allot if they are deemed to compensate future suffering, which they should.
  20. Anyone going to watch Real Sports tonight about the 85 Bears? Sad to see McMahon in the state he is in. I'm not a fan of Ditka but he's dead on.
  21. That is just amazing At the time, I thought it was a smart move. In hindsight, unless you're more proven or you know for sure you have another move secured, you can't do this. I thought he had the Jets job locked up.
  22. That's disappointing. I'd rather have Gase.
  23. yes and no, when Lovie was hired, GB was the class of the NFC. So, beating them consistently meant being the class of the NFC. GB at that time was in a string of 3 consecutive NFC North titles. He had to beat GB to do anything successful. Bears still need to beat GB. They'll be top dog in this conference for 10 more years barring a Rogers crippler. Not that I think Fox should have copied Lovie's opening presser. If Detroit keeps playing the way they did all season they will need to beat them too. And if the Vikes give Bridgewater an O-Line and anyone to throw to... My point isn't that beating GB isn't important - it is. That said, depending on the year, beating the rest of your division rivals can be and often is equally important. I guess if it were me, I might say something like: "The first thing we are going to do is gear up to beat our divisional opponents. Green Bay has been the best team in the North for a number of years, so they are at the top of the list. But we need to beat all of them - the Lions were a playoff team last year and the Vikes are young and clearly on the up-swing. Beating all of them is the path to the playoffs." I realize this is splitting hairs a bit, but its a message board. It's just catering to the fans, some fans love that stuff. It's not they're extra effort into beating Gb and then less effort vs. everyone else. Those press conferences are part pep-rally.
  24. Fangio would be at the top of my list, followed by Schwartz and Pepper Johnson.
