  1. Grossman: 2 possessions, 2 scores.
  2. Possibly. I think Grossman automatically makes all the receivers, especially Mush, as well as Jones much more valuable. The defense will at least have to honor the passing game. Great toss, great catch there! I'm excited!
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen, THE KING!
  4. Huff scares me. I could see us giving up some talent, and getting a Burnitz like season in return. But if he can be had without giving up Hill or Guzman, I'd be for it I guess.
  5. I still think Wilikerson, Mench, Kearns, Bradley and probably some others are available. A few of those names will probably be on different teams in the coming weeks. I would like to use Corey as the 4th outfielder, and see if he can regain some value.
  6. I only ask this because as more and more free agents are signed, I'd have to imagine the demand for Todd continues to go down. I thought Minnesota was an option but they traded for Castillo. From what I've read, Texas wants to go with that Kinsler kid. I doubt Boston would want him back. The Mets could be a possibility I guess. Is Hendry gonna simply give him away like he did with Farns and Sosa? With the way our off season has gone I would like the Cubs to just keep Walker and deal with the sub-par defense, because our sub-par offense is rather embarrassing at this point. [/i]
  7. Because, sadly, you aren't in charge?
  8. I'd rather do this than give a three year contract to another frenchy like Jaque Jones.
  9. Yeah, but is it possible part of the reason their numbers were better because there defense was improved? That could be part of the reason, I don't have the time to find and compare Fielding Independent ERA's right now, but if someone wants to, go for it. Nah. I really gotta finish this knitting.
  10. Or it could be an indication of how little MLB GM's value the addition of Bradley to their team. The mid-level prospect the Dodger's received was probably pretty close to the best offer they saw from any team. Place Bradley's stats, talent and age on any other outfielder and they would offer a much higher return. When considering the baggage Bradley brings along...........the value plummets. I'm glad Hendry stayed away. has hendry proven to be a better gm than beane? i don't think so. Billy Beane hasn't won anything! He's no better than Hendry! Its a good thing you don't run the Cubs! You love Moneyball! DePodesta failed! Riccardi is a spendthrift! Epstein was secretly fired because he was inept! Stop the Beane manlove! Its the standard anti-Beane stuff I usually receive. I thought you might enjoy it, Abuck. What a victim! Oh, I'm no victim. Never meant to be one. I was just having some fun with Abuck. I do think, however, that Beane usually gets held to an unfair standard by his detractors. You're probably right. Either way, I was just messin.
  11. Isn't he pretty lousy defensively? Like really lousy?

  13. Very possible. Beane and Hendry work pretty well together. Opposites attract. Sweet Paula Abdul song.
  14. An interesting note on Craig Wilson: His good OBP is largely a factor of his ability to get in the way of the pitch. Three times in his career he has been in the top 10, twice as the top dog.
  15. And that Pierre is a American.
  16. I too would be happier with the Tejada-Bradley combo than the Abreu-Cedeno one, largely because I am not sure of how good Cedeno is. I'd rather take the surer thing.
  17. Oh man, landing Tejada would be awesome. It would make the offseason a success in my eyes, especially if we could avoid playing Neifi! at 2B. Then we could go after a RF like Wilkerson or Bradley, and, whoah, I'm pumped. Juan Ivory Pierre Murton Lee Tejada Ramirez Bradley/Wilkerson Barrett 2Bdude Pretty hot, if you ask me.
  18. You know what I bet happens: We sign Jaque Jones and make the playoffs because of pitching and defense and then we become torn.
  19. I wanna know whose house this guy broke into to use their internet. It's not like White Sox fans have access to that kind of space-age technology.
  20. Also Burnett's been kicked out of his own clubhouse more than Wood has. I forget where I read this, but Bill James created a system to compare how dominating a pitcher was. Wood's 20K, 1 hitter was the most dominating performance by a pitcher in history.
  21. Are the teams looking back at him?
  22. You're telling me his limp-wristed slap bunt things that always went foul don't get your motor goin?
