    That's funny because I thought it was overpaying for Zito. I would rather have Williams and Hill on the Cubs then a guy that is going to be a free agent next year. At a risk of sounding like a troll - Williams and Hill trade values are vastly over rated on this board. I've noticed most most forums (like CardsTalk) tend to over value their own players tho. That is true. Wellemeyer and Mitre tend to be others. It's pretty comical when they show up in big trades, IMO.

    Finley really scares me. In fact I'd be happier with Hairston in CF next year. I think Corey, despite his many shortcomings, still interests some teams and, while this might sound greedy, I think we could do better. Sorry Steve, it's not you it's me! Okay fine, it's you.

    That'll look nice in 5 years. If Thome bounces back next year though, that's a pretty solid 3-4 combo.

    Hmm this is interesting. Obviously if we trade Cedeno, we would need a SS, so I imagine this trade would happen only if we land Furcal. Then perhaps a trade of Patterson for Bradley (as discussed in another thread) and then maybe Walker for Castillo? HELLO! Castillo Furcal Lee Aram Wilkerson Bradley Murton Barrett I can dig. :D

    At least the money will go to a player entering his prime. 5/55 for Giles is crazy, IMO. I love Giles, I would go 3 years though, maybe an option.

    I think Moonlight Graham..er Adam Greenberg won't amount to very much in the majors as a starter, but could be a decent fourth or fifth outfielder, maybe not on the Cubs, but some team. To throw him away for nothing is absurd in my eyes.

    FWIW, the MLBTRADERUMORs guys, (who pegged the Cameron for Nady deal) say Hendry's backup plan for Pierre is Bradley. It also says that the White Sox and the Rangers are interested in Pierre, which probably ups our chances of getting Bradley.

    I would be satisfied with Jenkins, but it would mean some upgrades at CF, and short or 2B.
