  1. :x :x :x :x :x :x Heh, thanks for that........NOT! :pukel: Start praying to someone that he hits .300.
  2. Rick Fox.
  3. Say what you will, Bulldozers are sweet. I'd take one over an Escalade anyday of the week. Hard to get spinnars with track though.
  4. Maybe by the time September rolls around. (Sorry... I still have nightmares about the five months Shawn Estes was allowed to stink up an otherwise outstanding 2003 rotation.) Gotta have that crafty lefty.
  5. Hmm, you bring up an interesting point. What players would you take Neifi! over?
  6. Rotoworld Sez: Sox could have a pretty nice pen next year.
  7. I have faith in him, but I think his value is as a starter, and I'm afraid they signed Glendon for that role. Didn't Dusty favor Williams over Rusch as a starter last year?? Can't see anything that would change that. I hope you're right. It would be nice to see both Williams and the team go forward next year.

  9. Plus we all know that we won't have Prior and Z forever and that Aramis will probably opt out after next year to see what he can get in a new contract. Pie may be fantastic, but Abreu is the type of player that could put us over the top. Imagine this lineup: Pierre Walker Lee Abreu ARam Barrett Murton Cedeno Division Title.
  10. Good call, Mon. Arguably one of the ten best players in baseball is available, plays a position where we have a gaping hole and could be had for a few relievers and a starter. Hendry should be fired soon after. What can the Cubs offer that tops any Houston deal involving Lidge? Be realistic please. Pie, Williams, Wuertz and Novoa would be my offer.

  12. nice deal for the rangers. I think it's the opposite. You can argue that Young is better than Eaton(as well as a year younger), and Sledge+Gonzalez is worth well more than Otsuka and a prospect. Towers fleeced them here. That might be true. But at least they're trading from a position of strength. Eaton may be overrated, but they don't really have room for Sledge.

  14. nice deal for the rangers. The Rangers have made some really smart moves this year IMO. Eaton could be a useful starter, and Otsuka (sic) is a good addition to their pen. I do think this hurts the chances of us getting Wilkerson though.

  16. That blows my mind too. If anything, JH knows the value of a ham sandwich. I mean look at him!
  17. Don't worry....Dusty will take of that problem for you in regards to Murton. Mabry will be playing LF for the majority of the games until he hits below 200 and then he'll just platoon with Murton. You are a sick, sick man. Me or Dusty? There is no doubt in my mind if Mabry hits 270 or above he will be the starting LF for the Cubs in 06 and get at least 450 AB's. If Mabry is hitting above .270, he could be a decent player.[/i]
  18. Ok, so WORST we can do is 10-6 for the year and not win the division. Current NFC seeds; 1 SEA 12-2 2 CHI 10-4 3 NYG 10-4 4 CAR 10-4 5 TB 9-5 t6 ATL 8-6 t6 WAS 8-6 t6 DAL 8-6 Ok, we have the obvious tiebreak on ATL. WAS would have the tiebreak on us. I'm betting we'd have some sort of tiebreak on DAL if came down to it. WAS' final 2 are vs NYG and @ PHI. Hard, but possible, for them to go 10-6. DAL's final 2 are @ CAR and vs STL. I see 1-1 there for the 'Boys. So basically, root for the NYG to win next Saturday so that clinches the Bears a playoff spot. [and then watch as the Bears clinch the division by beating the Pack on Christmas evening! :D] No, you root against the giants, because theyre the only team that could beat the bears out for the #2 spot. And because they're from NY and wear Red uniforms sometimes.
  19. I agree. The only two arguments I can come up with against Walker are a) his defense and b) his attitude. I don't have the numbers on hand, but I have to imagine that his offense more than makes up for any defensive shortcomings. I can't really comment on his attitude, but I would hope that JH would realize that a 2B capable of .290/.360/.480 is worth a few complaints now and again.
  20. Shore up the outfield? We had 40 million bucks to wheel and deal with, and now we can barely make ends meet in the outfield? Thanks a bunch, Jim.
  21. Gay Sportscenter time. Cue that lame HD noise.
  22. I know! His name is Rex. My Latin is weak but I reckon it translates as King. I think the King should be in the game!
