  1. NE is in big trouble too.
  2. Skins owning the Saints D.
  3. Get used to being bored this offseason. Being bored is better than being pissed off. Which will happen when we trade Bradley and tons of cash for a crappy player later on.
  4. Shaping up to be an exciting playoffs. Minnesota vs NO would be a sweet matchup. I hope NO destroys Favre. I still give the Pats as good a chance as anyone in the AFC. Never underestimate the Hoody- although I know every hates his guts. He's the smartest coach in football. A Pats/Colts matchup would be sweet too.
  5. I agree. Lovie is an average coach at best. He is outclassed every week. Coaches have to outthink and strategize other coaches and think a step ahead. Lovie is simply outclassed in this league. He has had some success in the past, but he cannot make any adjustments or outstrategize any good team. He insists on the Cover 2 defense, when everyone has figured it out and picks it apart. And he clearly is not an offensive mind, yet he hands the offense over to a moron and stubbornly defends him. Coaching and management is more important in the NFL than in any other sport, by far. Football is more a team sport than any sport there is. Its so easy to blame the players, but some teams have managed to produce consistent winners in a league with a salary cap where 1 superstar can't win it for you. I'd be excited to land a proven winner. I'm not sure if Cowher is the answer, but I hope he is (provided the Bears hire him).
  6. True. Dumb statement. But it was a classic Tribune era move. 3 years $13 million for a not so big time free agent. It was one of the few Tribune era free agency moves that actually worked. Todd Hundley was how these moves usually turned out.
  7. I still see NY as the favorite to land LeBron, because its NY and he would be immortalized there if he won. But I agree it might be a mistake, and he'll regret it forever if he retires without a ring. I still think money is somewhat overrated here. Sure, all the guys want as much money as possible, but for a top basketball player like Lebron and Wade, endorsements make up a huge portion of their income. I think that being able to win a championship is more important to these guys than a few million bucks in salary.
  8. What, you think its too early for this? I think not. Here's another Cowher rumor: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2009/11/report-bears-reaching-out-to-cowher.html Why aim low with firing Turner only. Let's get rid of everyone.
  9. Hey, how come the Bears defense is playing again this week?
  10. I don't understand why. The Bears are out of it. You actually give them a shot at the WC?
  11. Eagles looking very bad on offense today. No surprise that they still managed to handle the Bears D last week. McNabb never seems to look at his second receiver. He zones in on 1 guy when other guys are open.
  12. Do you think that these teams could run the ball, they are just too busy passing it to really give the backs the carries? Concerning Martz, I don't think it would work out. Doesn't he like to be in absolute control and that is why he left San Francisco? Plus, the Bears don't need a new OC as much as new players. They need a big possession receiver and nearly an entirely new line. No, I think they need an OC more than anything. So easy to blame an offensive line. It seems as if we've been saying they need an offensive line forever. So many players have cycles through this offensive line. For that matter, QB's have cycled through this team as well. Yet the result is the same. A pathetic offense that constantly has to covert 3rd and long. Defensive getting to the QB. Runs right into 5 defenders. One constant is Ron Turner. Yeah, we've seen defenders flat out beat our offensive lineman. But I think the coaching staff and the offensive scheme plays a big role. You can't block 3 men at once, no matter how good you are. You can't block for a runner going straight into 5 defenders who happen to be at the right place at the right time, all the time. You can't block for a QB who has to execute perfect passes for 5 yard gains to a double covered receiver. Ron Turner has to go. I blame him. And the Colts and Patriots can run the ball because its a lot easier to run the ball when you have a competent passing offense, which the Bears don't have.
  13. We're not getting rid of Lovie, and therefore, we're not getting a big time proven offensive guy. Therefore, I'll take Martz. At least he has some creativity and has won in the past. I'd love to see a good aggressive passing offense with receivers getting yards after the catch. I'd love to see anything other than Ron Turner. If he doesn't work out in 2010, then get rid of both him and Lovie next year.
  14. Maybe this could even be posted on transactions. It seems as if many people are very excited about him and don't even want to think of trading this guy. Really? Career numbers: Minors: .299 average, .342 OBP, .392 SLG. He tore up the AFL with .376 AVG, and managed to walk 3 times in 101 AB's for a .396 OBP. I know he's only 19, but there's only 1 Ichiro. Everyone else with no power who doesn't walk sucks. And players generally don't learn plate discipline. This guy is way more likely to turn into Ronny Cedeno than Ichiro. Why all the hype?
  15. Wolf's replacement, I believe I just looked him up. Undrafted rookie. Ran a 4.78 at the combine. Guess its not surprising he got caught.
  16. Forte didn't even expect that play.
  17. See? Nice tackle Robbie.
  18. i have him on a keeper league team and have been really disappointed wit him, but i wasn't sure if he's playing badly or the offensive line is just awful. It's a combination of both. Damn it. Adrian Petersen- the other one- would struggle on this team.
  19. Gould is the best player on the team.
  20. How is it that we have two of the fastest receivers in the game and they never catch the ball on the run? Ron Turner must think that Hester and Knox are suited to be jump ball receivers.
  21. Ron Turner's genius already evident in the first drive.
  22. It wasn't Putting Neifi in to pinch hit was clearly the right choice, he hit a home run! (yeah, you're a Brewers fan, but I'm sure you'll get it) Im saying it wasn't the middle of the field. Indy took over at the 29 yard line. That was beyond dumb. But has anyone mentioned, that the officials blew the call?! It was a first down! If the officials make the right call, is everyone second guessing him, or calling him a genius? Easy to second guess. It didn't work out, but it would have if the officials made the right call.
  23. OK, let's wait and see what Sammy looks like in the next few months. I'll buy his explanation if he starts to turn back to his normal color. Sammy might be vain, but Michael Jackson was crazy. I'll give Sammy the benefit of the doubt here. At least Sammy isn't saying that its his natural color, or he has a skin condition, or denying he ever underwent plastic surgery even after he turns transforms into a freak.
  24. Who knew the Bulls would have such a strong defensive team. I'm impressed.
  25. What about this one? Pick 2 out of 3: Pierre Thomas vs. St Louis Ronnie Brown vs. Tampa Cedric Benson vs. Pitt I'm leaning towards sitting Benson, although Brown hasn't been great lately, due to the matchups. I'd probably play Favre over Cutler as well.
