  1. Why the long discussion on the handball? Isn't that how the rule is? The red card and the penalty shot, which a guy should usually make. Why intellectualize the rule and compare it with other sports? Every sport has its own nuances. If you want to pick on soccer rules, what about deciding the game played for 120 minutes to a tie with something that has nothing to do with the rest of the game? Might as well have them shoot free throws or kick field goals to decide the game.
  2. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wadelebronbulls072010 Hahahah, amazing. They've spent two years gearing up for LeBron and they strike out in less than 2 days. What a pos organization How does a professional organization botch something they've had two years to prep for? I hope Mike D'antoni is enjoying his money.
  3. Or it suggests that the Bulls have a contingency plan if LeBron doesn't work out. Wade/Bosh sounds great. I'd rather have LeBron/Lee or LeBron/Boozer if I can't have LeBron/Bosh. But I'll take any of the above.
  4. They can sign both with a little maneuvering. Signing all three takes some creativity and giving up Noah or Rose as sweeteners. Rose is untouchable. I'd give up Noah in a heartbeat if it meant we can have Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. I still don't know how everyone assumes that Wade and LeBron want to play with each other. Even if they both said so in public, I still don't believe them because of course they are going to say it in public. The bottom line is that if they really really wanted to play together, they could. And I still don't think its happening.
  5. No way anything happens with DWade without the Bulls knowing how LeBron stands. I'll be shocked to hear anything about Wade before LeBron meets with them on Saturday.
  6. You think the Bulls don't know that? I pretty sure the Bulls are using Wade as much as Wade is using the Bulls. There's no chance that Wade or especially LeBron are going to be pressured into a decision because of a team's actions. LeBron isn't going to say "oh crap Wade is gonna go to Chicago but I wanna go to Chicago I better sign on the dotted line right away even if I have to take less". The teams have zero leverage. No, but I can see LeBron saying "oh crap, they are going to sign Wade and Bosh. I'd better sign with them first or else he's going to have a better team than me and I won't be getting any rings."
  7. OK. Makes way more sense. How good does a lawyer have to be to get 100% of a guy's net worth despite a prenup in place agreeing to 2% of that amount. I
  8. It's arguable that Scottie was a top 5 NBA player at the time. And even if the positions were similar, their games were very different. Scottie was the perfect complement to Michael. He was a great passer, great defender, and didn't need to score to be effective. Very different situation than Wade and LeBron.
  9. They did fine on the dream team. The last time 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA played on the same team was Kobe and Shaq. It didn't end well for them. And even if they did win championships, they still underachieved, because they should have won every single year. They didn't even play the same (similar) position. uh - Beijing? Kobe, Wade, James, etc.? Yeah, all star games and world competition doesn't count. And the US still manages to occasionally lose in international competition despite their enormous edge in talent.
  10. You think the Bulls don't know that? I pretty sure the Bulls are using Wade as much as Wade is using the Bulls. Exactly. If LeBron and Wade don't want to play with each other, then they have to view each other as competition. If one gets himself in a good situation with a nice big man and supporting cast, then it will be that much harder for the other to win. If Wade can come to Chicago with Bosh, LeBron is going to have a hard time winning the East with Cleveland and he knows it.
  11. The Knicks must be a bunch of fools. First you hear they offer him 11.5 million, and now this. They had a company called Interbrand give a presentation to James. per ESPN: How's this one. Whoever came up with those numbers has a 100% chance of being an idiot.
  12. good call redflash lol I'm dumbfounded. But happy. My dream scenario is still LeBron + a big man. But I'd gladly take Wade + a big man. Would the Bulls actually pursue Wade really hard without knowing either 1) that LeBron wants to join Wade in Chicago OR 2) LeBron was unavailable because he was going to stay in Cleveland. I hope this is all a play to ultimately get LeBron. It's like how the guy starts dating a hot girl, and then all the sudden all the hot girls want to date him.
  13. They did fine on the dream team. The last time 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA played on the same team was Kobe and Shaq. It didn't end well for them. And even if they did win championships, they still underachieved, because they should have won every single year. They didn't even play the same (similar) position. Somehow I think Lakers fans think that 3 championships was worth the headache. The Bulls can win plenty of championships with LeBron, Rose, Noah and a big. No Wade needed. Kobe can win multiple rings with a skinny Spanish guy, a one legged Bynum, Kloe Kardashian's husband, and a 60 year old Derek Fisher.
  14. They did fine on the dream team. The last time 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA played on the same team was Kobe and Shaq. It didn't end well for them. And even if they did win championships, they still underachieved, because they should have won every single year. They didn't even play the same (similar) position.
  15. Except that Wade is actually going to have a second meeting with the Bulls.... Maybe this all works to get LeBron to want to come to Chicago even more by making the team look appealing to even Wade, who has looked all along like he was staying in Miami. If this gets us LeBron only, I perfectly happy.
  16. I must be the only one who can't see Wade and LeBron playing together. I can maybe see Wade wanting to play with LeBron, but not the other way around. Both SG/SF type players who want to be the focus of the team. Tons of ability and talent, but too much ego and not enough ball. I'll gladly take one or the other as a Bulls fan.
  17. As they say, for every hot girl you see, there's some guy who tired of f@#ing her.
  18. Few observations about current rumors: 1) Joe Johnson and Rudy freaking Gay offered max deals by their respective teams: my 2 cents- Good luck to them. I'm sure their teams will be loving giving those guys the same money as, if not more money than, LeBron James for the next 5 or so years. Memphis and Atlanta will be contending for rings real soon, I'm sure. 2) Bosh reportedly wants a sign and trade for the max, while the Cavs will not entertain signing and trading LeBron: My 2 cents- So unless LeBron gets paid less than Bosh, or Bosh joins LeBron in Cleveland, LeBron would have to settle for LESS money to play on the same team as Bosh. Sorry, not happening. On principle alone, no way LeBron agrees to that. If the Bulls get LeBron, then I'll be thrilled, even if they sign no one else. However, they may have to settle for Boozer or David Lee the way things are looking. And it seems as if LeBron and Bosh looks like a pipe dream according to current rumors. Which of course could easily be wrong.
  19. I will be so bummed if: LeBron stays in Cleveland Bosh goes to Miami via sign and trade to play with Wade Johnson takes Max from Atlanta Seemed unthinkable a few days ago, now looking really plausible. Oh well. A few guys still out there.
  20. Isn't it funny to think back to last year when people were pissed that we let Ben Gordon go? Come on LeBron. :beg: I am so sick of my teams sucking.
  21. The Bulls has apparently cleared room for 2 max. The Knicks have done it. The Heat have almost done it. There aren't enough free agents to go around. There are going to be some disappointed teams come July. I hope the Bulls aren't one of them.
  22. That's not a championship contender. Surely you're joking. don't call me shirley doesn't work in print Jeff Van Gundy, is that you? Maybe I should stop talking hypotheticals. Watch them end up with Ron Mercer again.
  23. That's not a championship contender. Surely you're joking.
  24. Oh man, it can't be real. LBJ + max FA + Rose + Noah? Someone tell me that's not a championship contender.
  25. Agree with those who say its the players. The team sucks offensively. We can talk about Piniella not optimizing the lineup or the hitting coach, but its the players who are swinging the bat like crap. Last year it was Bradley, Soriano, Soto especially sucking. This year its Lee, Aramis, Theriot. This year, we even have guys exceeding or meeting expectations. Can't even complain too much about Byrd, Colvin, Soto, Soriano, or Fukodome. How about this for an explanation- The Cubs offense sucks. Good offenses find ways to score, sucky ones find ways to suck. It has been this way for a while. That's all there is to it. The offense is just not good.
