  1. They should have given it to Rose.
  2. If the Celtics lose this game, they are going to be crying like babies about the officiating. Hope it happens.
  3. Noah has been huge. And allen has 5 fouls.
  4. Noah has to make that. I could've layed that one in, and I suck at Bball.
  5. Miller actually has the best +/- of all the Bulls in the game, not sure how much weight you guys put into that stat.
  6. As long as the guy keeps running off screens and putting up shots, he's deadly. Off the dribble, not so much. But man, he is on fire. Step on their neck. This is their chance. I still think winner of this game takes the series.
  7. Man, really mixed feedback on Cutler. The ESPN guys, Rick Morrissey, One thing that a lot of people simply don't get: Orton sucks. People out there actually think Orton was an OK QB. Wow, have these guys seen Orton play? Likeable guy, sure. Good QB, no way. Any pro bowl QB is a huge improvement, and QB is the most important position on the field. No number 18 pick and 3rd rounder could possibly improve the team more this year that Cutler. Time will tell.
  8. Why does everyone keep talking about Salmon's "inflated" numbers? Maybe so, but its pretty tough to "inflate" FG%. He is shooting 47% from the field and 42% from 3 pts. Jamal Crawford and Jalen Rose could never sniff a high FG% when jacking shots and padding stats with crappy Bulls teams. I'll miss Nocioni, but this is a good trade. Salmon is cheap anyways. If Miller is healthy, he's the type of player they need. Plus, he's off the books in 2010.
  9. The Cubs really don't make that much money. The reason they're being sold for so much is because people are willing to pay that much to own a sports team. That's really funny. Even a billionaire with money to burn isn't going to flush money down the toilet year after year just because he wants to own a sports team. Maybe there are better billion dollar investments out there, but no one is stupid enough to pay $900 million for a money losing operation because he's a fan who wants to own a team. One thing is clear, even with a $140 million payroll, the Cubs are making money. No doubt about it.
  10. Oh man, and I thought this was about running naked in public places for money. How disappointed am I.
  11. Of course every team needs to be smarter. But for me, any owner who is a true fan is infinitely better than the Trib. Of course the fans pay the payroll, but under the Tribune company the fans probably paid the Tribune in addition to the team payroll. They only started spending money in the last couple years in anticipation of a sale. They are now bankrupt. Don't tell me a media company with financial problems would ever put winning ahead of maximizing profit. For all we know, the Cubs were floating the trib for 10 years.
  12. thats waisis. I have to agree. Sometimes, you don't know how valuable someone is until he's missing. The team hasn't been nearly as clueless with him around. The team has looked like a bad college team at times when he was gone. Can't remember us ever missing Gordon as much as we seemed to miss Kirk the first half.
  13. Hughes hasn't deserved to play in a while. Maybe Vinny is coming to his senses. I can't see how he's at all tradeable, unless the Bulls take on a big unwanted contract in return. He's worthless. In fact, beyond worthess. He's worth negative millions.
  14. I disagree...I know he tries really hard and constantly is working out and trying to get better, but the guy is undersized which doesn't help and he gets burned buy guys that are slower than him...I really think he just never will get above the level of D that he plays right now Gordon is a bad defender. Maybe not the badness caliber of Larry Hughes, but he's just plain slow and small. Bad combination. And this year more than ever, he's playing selfish. I'm sick of it. Him being in a contract year and the fact that the rest of the team sucks has turned him into a ball hog. The offense should run through Rose. Not Gordon. The guy cannot handle the ball. His charge on the 2 on 1 break was pathetic.
  15. Always nice to lose at home to crap teams. Del Negro sucks. He's lost control of this team.
  16. I think that the 2009 Bulls collectively are the worst loose ball team in the history of the game. Does anyone on the team have good hands? So painful. And I question Del Negro's judgement in ever letting Larry Hughes off the bench. Let him hang out with Marbury. He's worthless.
  17. I'm not watching this game, but why Hughes ever plays is beyond me. I guess they want to make him earn his ridiculous contract. Personally, I think he'd earn it better on the bench.
  18. He actually did have some hamstring issues last year. James Harden would be a perfect compliment to Derrick Rose and I'm not just saying that because he's the best basketball player to ever play for ASU. He is going to be a legitimate star. His strength/athleticism/body control is awesome. And he has an awesome beard. Can he play D unlike Gordon? I don't think he'll ever be anything great defensively. He's 6'5, really strong, has long arms but has average speed. He'd never be a lock down guy, especially against top shooting guards. So let me rephrase that can he play D better than the Matador Ben Gordon? Yeah and more importantly has the size to actually body up on a two offensively and defensively. Having a 2 that can work a pick and roll with Rose would be a great weapon as opposed to just shooting long jumpers. Yeah definitely....With Rose right now Gordon really makes no sense with him he's to small and all he can do is shoot(sometimes) I actually don't mind Gordon with Rose. But they still need a big guard. Gordon should be a compliment and be a guy that can shoot the ball and open up the lane for Rose and a good 2G to create. Gordon is a horrible compliment to Rose. Not because he can't shoot, but he because he insists on dribbling before he shoots. Why can't he just catch passes and shoot? He is a one dimensional player and plays horrible defense to boot. He needs to move on.
  19. Deng never deserved that contract in the first place. It's too bad we didn't just let him go to the Clippers. We'd be looking real good in the 2010 frame of mind. I don't think the organization is going to let Gordon go. This year has shown just how important he is to this team. Can you imagine how much worse this team would be if Gordon wasn't back here this year? There's no question that Rose is the best all-around player on this team, but we'd have a hard time scoring over 75-80 a game without Gordon. There's only a couple of other teams that can offer him a big contract and I'm not sure that teams will do that the year before 2010. Surprisingly, I'm not really all that upset with how this season is going. The only thing that really irks me is Del Negro's teaching, or lack thereof, on the defensive end. That Hawks game was murder on the ears last Saturday. Whenever the Bulls would "force" an Atlanta miss, the Hawks would just get the offensive board and put the ball back in the hoop. Second chance points have killed this team this year. Gray, Gooden, and Tyrus are some of the worst interior defenders that I have ever seen. I disagree about Gordon. He's by far the best scorer on the team, but I think he has to go. Him and Derrick cannot play together in the same backcourt without him significantly detracting from Derrick's potential. Ben Gordon still thinks he can create a shot in this league, and he simply cannot. He gets stuffed on his drives and he can't create an open shot with his ball handling. The only way he's valuable is if someone is dishing him the ball for an open jumper. If he could do that and turn himself into a Reggie Miller type, or even a better version of John Paxson in his prime, then he's a valuable player. But he still insists on handling the ball, dribbling it, and that is a disaster. He could never ever score in crunch time with time running out, because if the other team knows he's taking the shot, he simply cannot get a good one off. And he still can't. I say good bye Ben Gordon. If for no other reason than the fact he is hindering the development of Derrick Rose. I hate to compare him with selfish players like Jalen Rose and Jamal Crawford, but it doesn't impress me that he consistently leads sucky teams in scoring.
  20. The running backs aren't bad. The defensive line is probably straddling the line between the top half and the bottom half. A good defensive draft and this team wins 11+ games next year. Forte is very good. Peterson isn't what I really have in mind as his primary backup. The Bears should do better there. The defensive line cannot generate a pass rush to save its life. It showed it can defend the run well but was inconsistent at that as well. I think we should go pass rusher or wide receiver in the first round of the draft. No WR, please. This team needs to be good at what it can be good at: Defense and special teams. And in order to have a good defense, you must draft it every single year. A good WR doesn't change this into a good offense, but one good Dlineman might make it a good defense. There's no inherent reason the Bears can't have a good offensive team. I mean, I have my doubts they ever WILL become one with the brain trust that is currently in place but they should still try to build a good all around club. Hester made some nice strides this year but the receiving corps as a whole is still unbelievably bad. I'm not going to be too picky because the Bears have enough holes where any good player will do. But I think the receiver problem is glaring even on a team that has lots of flaws. The receivers are definitely a weakness. The number of drops this year is crazy. When Orton somehow manages to hit you, you have to catch it. But no need to pinpoint one weakness. They have too many.
  21. Jerry Angelo signing Cassel. That would be funny. He'll say we're trying to develop Caleb Hanie. They should've gotten Drew Brees a few years back when we had the chance too.
  22. Yes, and no team in Chicago with the exception of the Bulls have done that. It is pathetic. Especially considering the big market. It's one thing to suck in Memphis or Tampa, its another to suck in Chicago.
  23. Seattle fans say hi. Chicago is one of the best sports cities in Chicago and each team except the Blackhawks have been successful this decade. It's just been a miserable year with the Cubs and Bears in 2008. Maybe successful in terms of making the playoffs I guess Bulls have made the playoffs in 3/8 seasons this decade and have won 1 playoff series Cubs have made the playoffs in 3/8 seasons this decade and have won 1 playoff series Bears have made the playoffs in 3/8 seasons this decade and have won 2 playoff series and advanced to one championship game Blackhawks have made the playoffs in 1/8 seasons this decade and won 0 playoff series So Chicago teams are 10/32 in making the playoffs and are 4/14 in winning playoff series this decade and have advanced to 1 title game and won 0 championships this decade. That's far from a successful decade by any measure. Who cares about the playoffs? It's about championships. We know about the Cubs. The Bears have one 1 championship in like 40 years The Sox have one 1 championship in like 50+ years The Blackhawks haven't win since...I don't know because I don't really follow them...but its been a long while. Thank goodness for MJ.
  24. 19-6-7 Yeah great Chicago can boast of 33 games of good hockey. Maybe we can make the playoffs for the first time in 7 years Don't really care about the Blackhawks, like millions of others in my generation who grew up in Chicago. Thanks Bill Weurtz. Moron.
  25. We suck. Pure and simple. What can we all expect, as Cub fans. Chicago is the most pathetic sports city in the country. Think about this city without Jordan.
