  1. If we can't win this game, we don't deserve the playoffs anyways. Painful. And Minnesota's going to lose.
  2. David Carr is looking like Joe Montana. Orton is looking like...Orton.
  3. On a side note, damn Derrick Ward is good.
  4. And of course, its all moot if we can't win!
  5. He does change the defense and manages to get 5 yards/carry when everyone in the stadium knows he's getting the ball.
  6. A giants TD just got called back.
  7. Go you Raiders !! edit: Touchdown, Oakland !! Looks like we may have to rely on Oakland and Philly to come through. Because you know they both want to win. Giants are about to pack it soon.
  8. Which is why I am a proponent of letting go of several players that have been with the Bulls since that time, including Hinrich, Noce, Gordon and perhaps even Deng if he can stay healthy and play well enough to increase his value.. I agree. They should blow this team up and build around Rose. Gordon is the best scorer on the team, but he's turning into Jamal Crawford/Jalen Rose. One dimensional guy who can't create his own shot and can lead a bad team in scoring. Plus, he makes Rose worse. Hinrich is solid, but he has some trade value and won't get any better. Deng has to show me something. I cringe when I think back how he was the untouchable in a possible Kobe Bryant deal a few years back. Nocioni is my favorite of the bunch. He can be a rock solid contributor on a good team. Too bad this isn't a good team. The team needs a real big man in the worst way. Tyrus Thomas isn't going to cut it. If they had any shot at Chris Bosh in free agency, he'd be a great complement to Rose.
  9. I think people should realize now how great a coach Skiles was. He took a talentless, undisciplined group the the playoffs. He overachieved beyond belief. This team looks hopeless.
  10. I hate to say it, but Grossman is going to play like crap today because he sucks against any sort of pass rush. Hopefully, he minimizes turnovers, but I'm not feeling good about it.
  11. The simple fact is that Ben Gordon is not quick enough off the dribble to get to the basket consistently in the NBA. I don't think its vision, its just speed. He does that two footed hop, only wants to go right, and gets swatted whenever he tries to create his own shot off the dribble. I'm fine letting him go. He's a good 6th man option for a team that needs scoring off the bench. He's more of a Vinny Johnson type player than anything that resembles a franchise player. I wouldn't mind keeping him, but its the right thing letting him go with the backcourt glut and the money he wants.
  12. If the Cubs can somehow upgrade Lee to Teixera and get a nice pitcher from the Giants on top of it, this former Hendry hater will proclaim the man a genius. Would almost start getting my hopes up again.
  13. I really read nothing into that statement. I think that since he's talking about "deal structure" and not talking about doing the deal at all. It tells me he is still interested, and it tells me that he may be trying to lobby for a better deal for him- which any smart person would do anyways.
  14. We have been so outmatched this series, it isn't even funny. Pitching, hitting, defense. Wow.
  15. I do believe... but saying no pressure is really hilarious. Maybe "NO presure" was not the right phrase, but nobody expects them to win. This is essentially the same offense that couldn't hit last year. That's 0 for 5. Pathetic. No expectations. How can an offense that has played so badly for 5 straight games have a lot of pressure on them? The worst pressure is when you are expected to perform. Okay, LESS pressure. Much less.
  16. Tomorrow, Harden pitches well after some needed rest and the Cubs offense plays more loose without all the pressure. Then Sunday, they figure out Lowe and hit him, Then they get game 5 at home. Then, after the huge comeback, they are a lock to win it all- like the Red Sox did after coming back against the Yankees. Come on, if you didn't think there was a chance, you wouldn't be watching tomorrow.
  17. Whatever they do, they need to upgrade the offense. I'd be fine with maintaining the pitching staff. The 2009 free agents on offense look terrible. I like the idea of trading Lee and signing Teixera, but I can't ever see it happening. Can Teixera play OF? Can he learn?
  18. The team definitely needs an elite hitter. Soriano, Lee and Ramirez are hardly elite anymore, more like above average. I'm not sure Manny is the answer, though.
  19. Well, I think we'll win game 3. That would be 2-1.
  20. How can you possibly be capable of getting your hopes up? If they are going to lose, its less painful to lose in 3. It means you were never good enough and had no chance anyways. 2003 was so painful because you knew the Cubs were going to win the WS if they didn't choke.
  21. If they can come back from this, then they're going to win it all for sure. If not, then I'd rather they lose right away and not get my hopes up.
  22. The sad thing is, Z has good stuff tonight. And the Cubs aren't going to hit this pitcher at all.
  23. If our offense doesn't start hitting, this will be over Saturday. I'm so depressed.
