  1. Oh man. The Red Sox clubhouse will be a complete and utter zoo if Manny doesn't get traded by August 1st.
  2. Chan Ho got launched to San Diego in exchange for Phil Nevin.
  3. Ah, these things are fun to ask. Speaking of Scott Moore, while his offensive production has been quite impressive, he has posted a rather large number of errors on the season (I believe 18?). Are his errors on plays that he will be able to corrected given time and coaching, or does it seem more like he could benefit from a move to the outfield or to first base?
  4. I understand what his point is. NYC has 2 baseball teams and a lot of other stuff that people worried about. In the summer, the Red Sox are pretty much the focal point. In NYC he would share the spotlight in the media with Jeter, ARod, Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Mariano Rivera, Mike Piazza, Carlos Beltran, Pedro Martinez, etc etc. In Boston, he is the focal point along with Ortiz, Schilling and Varitek. He'd likely get one of the center spotlights being a former member of the Red Sox, a huge contract, a name player, and a tormentor of the Yankees for most of his career. I can understand where you're coming from on this, but I honestly think that his privacy would go flying out the window the moment he got traded to the Mets.
  5. Didn't he say want more privacy, too? That makes no sense considering the NY sports media is the most bloodthirsty and psychotic in the US. Boston is pretty bad, but by comparison, they are all kittens and sunshine compared to the NY media.
  6. With Kerry Wood no longer starting, do you want to jeopardize our starting rotation depth?
  7. Depending on salary considerations and prospects, I might be interested in that deal the Cubs countered with.
  8. I don't know if I really want the Marlins to win this series. The Nats are falling back to Earth, but the last thing the Cubs want is for the Marlins to heat up.
  9. I still think it's a ruse by Jim Hendry to keep teams from bending him over a barrel for middle relief and starting pitching help. Dollars to donuts says that Wood pitches out of the BP in the minors and his shoulder tightens up again, causing him to be shut down and require surgery.
  10. Bare has not played 3B since joining the Cubs. I'm unsure as to whether he still could at a moment's notice.
  11. I'm still convinced the Cubs are going to flip him somewhere that needs a second baseman.
  12. Pretty much solidifies him as my #2 prospect in the Cubs' farm system.

  14. I'm curious to see how they hold up injuries-wise. Pettitte and Oswalt both have established injury histories and I'm hearing that Roger's back is not in very good shape these days. Also, I'm rather surprised that Lidge's arm has not exploded yet.
  15. Truthfully, how many teams actually have good bullpens beyond one established stud in there?
  16. Chacon was a highly thought of prospect back in the day, but Colorado decided to throw him into the bullpen for some reason. Not a bad deal, imo.
  17. Not only that.... if Hendry somehow expands it again to include Minnesota and can pry away JC Romero from them.... :D Good times -- my brain is swirling and my hopes are getting pretty high -- time to try and get myself back down to reality. We might as well get Florida in on it while we're at it. ;)
  18. Ooooooooooo, let's have some fun with this one. Let's say there's a three way trade that somehow sees Soriano go to Boston and Manny to the Cubs. What would the salary considerations, prospects, and other players involved look like in order to make the deal palatable to all teams? I'm going to take a guess that Texas would have interest in a major league ready starting picher and a center fielder.
  19. Nomar's starting at SS for Peoria tonight for those of you interested.
  20. FYI people, Nomar's starting for Peoria at SS tonight.
  21. Nomar's starting at SS for the Chiefs today! So far he's helped turn a double play, drew a walk, and scored a run.
