Toronto seems to be hanging back in the three team slugfest that is the AL East (only 4.5 games back), but I'm curious about the availability of Vernon Wells. To start the season, he was having some issues with the strike zone and was not nearly as effective as he once was. However, lately, he's been cooking with gas. His line for the season: .280/.327/.496 He still is fairly young (26) and could improve on those numbers. Maybe it's me throwing some crap at the wall, but I'm curious as to whether the Jays think they're still in it or if they're looking to unload. Wells' free agency is coming up and, much like Dunn, he will be a more expensive player in the near future. So...what do you people think it would take to pry him from the Blue Birds?
