  1. *Shrugs* At least E-Patt and Tyler Colvin are CF-worthy.
  2. I'm kind of ambivalent about trading him at this point, I'll be honest. He's productive enough to warrant having around for the remainder of his salary (which doesn't seem as bad as it did when he was signed), especially since he's shown he can be a decent CF. If a team wants to throw a top quality prospect our way for Jacque, then I'd be all for it. Anything below that...ehhhhhh.
  3. If Santana were open to the idea, I'd be all for it.
  4. Heh...heh heh...hah...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
  5. I'd be all for an 18 hole course which involved hitting a ball from skyscraper to skyscraper. That'd be the greatest golf course ever.
  6. It's also possible he might never pitch again. We don't know enough to make that kind of a judgment. Hendry knows more about Prior's medical situation than anyone on this board. He knows whether Prior has it in him to make a full recovery or, barring that, enough of a recovery to be an effective pitcher next season and the season after that. If Prior comes back next year with just a one year deal and pitches lights out, he'll be due a heck of a pay raise and would attract a ton of attention from other teams looking for pitching. An option for 2009 would be greatly beneficial for the Cubs since they could either cut ties with him if he's not producing or they could keep him for 2009 if he pitches like the other team owes him money in 2008. The one thing I'd absolutely hate to see is the Cubs letting him go and seeing him make a full recovery with another team. St. Louis immediately comes to mind.
  7. So you're saying they are going to build a baseball field on top of the tower....pure genius! http://www.designverb.com/wp-content/images/2006/09/highesttennis07.jpg Hey, it worked for the Burj Al Arab in Dubai with a tennis court.
  8. Given the credit crunch, Trump Tower is going to have some problems selling off and leasing those condos to prospective residents. I could see him buying the Cubs and using them as a marketing tool for Trump Tower. If you could get season's tickets for signing a lease, that'd make living there mighty tempting!
  9. Link Fun times ahead!
  10. Jon Daniels says "Hi". Ned Coletti disagrees Vociferously so, for that matter.
  11. I don't think he was referring to pitchers of Asian descent, but, instead, was referring to pitchers who pitched professionally in Asia and then came over to the US. Wang came up through the Yankees organization.
  12. A-ball pitcher with good stuff that a lot of people thought could turn into a decent starter or a good reliever down the road.
  13. I'd make Hill off-limits in any trade involving Crawford unless the D-Rays want to send other players/prospects along with him. I like Crawford, but I'm a bit leery about how much he will continue to develop over the coming seasons.
  14. I can understand being bent over a barrel for a good player...or even a decent one. But Trachsel? Really????
  15. Pie for Greene straight up, absolutely not. However, Pie for Greene and good prospects would be nice.
  16. I believe the Cubs ended up submitting bids on Matsuzaka, Igawa, and Iwamura last season, unless I'm mistaken. They were also reportedly interested in Kuroda, but he didn't come over to the States.
  17. I can now see what threads I've posted in! What manner of sorcery is this?!
  18. Then again, in all fairness to Kansas, if they're undefeated by season's end, they'll have taken down two likely Top 10 teams in Missouri and Oklahoma. That's nothing to sneeze at.
  19. It would also tell us absolutely nothing. Kansas would have played one or two real games and a lot of cupcakes (their schedule is STILL not top 100). Ditto for Ohio State, they would have pretty much run the table with a schedule that would be average for a mid-major conference team. Indeed. I think that game would be a great motivation tool to get the NCAA up off its rear and implement some sort of tournament system. I honestly think most of the other eight teams you have listed would handily defeat either Ohio State or Kansas. However, if all things remain constant through the rest of the season, we might see Ohio State/Kansas in the national championship with Hawaii getting a BCS bid. That would be problematic.
  20. I'm personally hoping for an Ohio State/Kansas national championship game. Kansas' football team playing for the national championship alone might rip a hole in the space-time continuum, but Ohio State is nowhere near as good as their rank, either. It might actually be a good game!
  21. My mind is blown!
  22. If the Giants are dumb enough, give them Soriano with some money to help pay him for Lincecum and run like hell.
