  2. I liked the time he kicked a metal fan.
  3. http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/detail/36/42/22184236.jpg :clapping: Awesome. Simply awesome. You need to post more.
  4. I can understand the other things (agreeing with them to varying degrees), but why Henry Blanco? Lou has only started him 3 times out of 15 games. That's normal for a backup catcher, and if you take Blanco away from Lou that only means that Lou will have Koyie Hill for those 3 games. I think keeping Blanco was a mistake. He's not a very good backup catcher in terms of what he provides from an offensive and defensive standpoint. Soto needs his rest, but, at the same time, I'd like to see a guy back him up who can either get on base or who is a plus defender behind the dish. I don't think Blanco is either.
  5. Daytona broke up the no-no. The game is still scoreless going into the bottom of the 8th. Maestri with a really solid outing: 6 scoreless, 2 H, 4/1 K/BB.
  6. The following things need to be taken away from Lou: Ryan Theriot Mike Fontenot The Hit & Run Sign Henry Blanco Mark DeRosa in the OF It's not to say that DeRo is bad in the OF, but any time he plays there, that ups the probability that Fontenot and Theriot will both be in the game.
  7. Theriot and Fontenot not making a good case for them to keep their jobs for the foreseeable future. FONTENOT YOU DUMB SON OF A *&$%!!!!
  8. 2004. 5 shutout innings against the Cubs. Hurricane double header where they beat Beckett in Game 1, iirc.
  9. Huh? Volquez isn't in there right now. Their bullpen isn't exactly the most reliable thing in the world right now.
  10. Oof. Needed that to be a little bit more toward the gap. PULL FONTENOT FOR GOD'S SAKE!
  11. Yeah, what about Mike Fontenot says leadoff hitter? Short, white, and blonde-haired?
  12. Time to get Sean Marshall stretched out.
  13. The problem comes when you swing at Ball 4 and the runner is thrown out at 2B. Or you ground into a double play. Or hit the ball in the air and get the runner doubled off 1st. There's way, way, way too much risk involved in the hit & run for justifying its use on anything remotely resembling a regular basis.
  14. The problem is, in order for it to really work correctly, you need to rely on so many factors breaking in your favor. It seems like there is so much luck involved in successfully carrying out a hit and run that it just doesn't seem worth the risk of it failing.
  15. I can't find the article right now, but I'm pretty sure that the work of Dan Fox over at BP showed that the Cubs cost themselves more runs than any other NL team by being caught stealing so much last year. A lot of those are busted hit-and-runs. Someone should cut off Lou's arms so he can't call for a hit-and-run ever again. Someone print out that article and send copies of it to everyone on the Cubs' coaching staff. I'm looking at you, Roast.
  16. Someone tell Lou to quit it with the hit & run garbage. It does not work.
  17. Pitching against a Dusty Baker-led team has a tendency to do that. Too bad we don't have any soft-tossing lefties. They'd have thrown 27 consecutive scoreless innings in this series! Isn't Lilly kind of a soft tossing lefty? I was thinking more along the lines of a guy whose fastball never cracks 85. At least Lilly can get up to 90-91 on his fastball.
  18. Pitching against a Dusty Baker-led team has a tendency to do that. Too bad we don't have any soft-tossing lefties. They'd have thrown 27 consecutive scoreless innings in this series!
  19. BBing the pitcher to score a run. ...wow.
  20. The sad thing is, he once was a really patient and selective hitter in the minors.
  21. Tennessee ended up losing 10-5. Harvey hit his second HR of the season.
