  1. Remember when Wuertz came in with the bases loaded and no outs and struck out the side? I don't think that happens today.
  2. Pass on Crawford at 19. He can't make enough contact. Great D though, amazing arm. Good pop in the bat too. Sounds like a future Cub to me!
  3. Decent, perhaps. The major obstacle to that at this point is that he's likely 9th in the pecking order for a starter this year, behind the current rotation and Lieber, Marshall and Gallagher. Basically, I don't see it happening this year, barring some huge transactions involving 3 of the guys above him. I think Hart's best suited for the bullpen. He has one true plus pitch along with some so-so other pitches. He could be a decent back end of the rotation guy down the line, but I think he's better suited to relief work at the moment.
  4. Considering Tim Beckham won't be around when the Cubs pick in the forthcoming summer draft, the best SS we can hope for is Brandon Crawford. I'm sure Raisin would love to tell us about him!
  5. I thought I'd always heard he was a good defender? In terms of the tools, they're there. We've seen him make some pretty impressive plays on balls that not many other shortstops would get to. However, I don't know if he has problems with his mechanics, reactions, noggin, or what, but he makes his share of boneheaded mistakes. The question is whether you're willing to accept those tradeoffs and hope he will continue to improve his defense.
  6. Josh Hamilton, since Minky went directly from MN to BOS.
  7. Then again, at the rate things are going, Lilly might go complete.
  8. Better than the time Farnsworth's herpes infected the entire team! ...what? :-" Lol So someone I work with says she's heard Farnsy has several illegitimate kids. Pretty much every bartender and waitress in Wrigleyville has a Farnsworth story. He's like Mark Grace, only he gets with hotter chicks.

  10. CBS' gamecast has also been really terrible today in terms of updating.
  11. I love how they slip Johnny Cueto into that article like he was a random nobody free agent who's magically bloomed into a good starter this season.
  12. I thought Ezequiel Astacio was the ugliest man in baseball? agreed http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/7245/wfsg9dbmwo7.jpg http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/2126/fullmoonlargeyo8.jpg I can't tell the difference!
  13. Jake Peavy apparently is taking after Kenny Rogers. Dirt? Or something else? You be the judge!
  14. Porcello has the potential to be the top prospect in baseball by the end of this season. I'll be impressed if the Tigers decide to trade him.

  16. Don't say we didn't warn you.
  17. I can't wait for him and Soriano to develop a 12 step handshake.
  18. Nothing like a post discussing Wood, [expletive], and suppositories.
