  1. I'm really worried that some people will take it out of hand and give us all a bad name. He should be booed, loudly, but no slurs, please. I'm going to guess the following scenario happens. Dusty gets booed really heavily each day of the Cubs/Reds series. Afterwards, even though nobody at Wrigley heard those slurs used, Dusty will accuse the Cubs fans of hurling racial slurs at him non-stop. He will then get on his high horse about how Cincinnati is a city that is much more accepting of him and it has no racism problems whatsoever. Nope, none! Not any! Of course, his story will change when Ken Griffey Junior starts to slump and gets booed by the Cincy fans.
  2. We also don't have any ongoing jokes happening at the moment. Otherwise, every other wiseass on this board would be contributing to the joke. Nope. No ongoing jokes. No joke to "beat" into the ground. No joke to "abuse" over and over again. That's because we already told the joke twice.
  3. I'm guessing Dusty will get booed mercilessly in his forthcoming return to Wrigley.
  4. We also don't have any ongoing jokes happening at the moment. Otherwise, every other wiseass on this board would be contributing to the joke.
  5. There is a glut of players who can play the OF and 1B down in Peoria. Between Burke, Rundle, Andersen, Rosa, and Johnston, there are only so many places they can play. Moreover, for whatever reason, Blake Lalli has secured a hold on the DH spot.
  6. Are we talking more about guys who were drafted pretty low coming out of HS/college, or are we talking about guys who had substandard minor league careers before coming up to the majors and breaking out?
  7. It's been awhile since we've had a Rich Hill pissing contest. How the man inspires this much bizarre behavior from certain posters on this board will forever be a mystery to me. So, when Lilly gets shelled in Philly this weekend, how many posts will we see seriously advocating his removal from the rotation? None? One?
  8. Frankly, if Harvey gets himself back on track this season, I can definitely see him really high on the list of prospects the Cubs would be happy to trade in a deadline deal. He can't play CF and the other two corner OFs on this team won't be going anywhere any time soon. On the other hand, having some RH power would be welcome on the bench.
  9. Anyone want to put an over/under on borderline offensive references to Myers' treatment of his wife in this thread?
  10. Just goes to show you steroids don't do jack with your plate discipline.
  11. And I understand being down when your team loses, but their broadcast team sound like totally broken men. I almost expected to hear them commit suicide on the air. Their silence during the Soto and Fontenot HRs was almost Hawk-like.
  12. Off to Philly! Hero of the Game: Jon Lieber
  13. So do they just fly straight up in the air and right back down again? They both skydive. Duh.
  14. I think Meek has only thrown one strike so far. This is going to be a fun inning.
  15. Too bad Lou pulled Pie. Meek would have been perfect for Pie to get his confidence back.
  16. Well, at least the Meek won't inherit any runners this time around.
  17. Second? Where the heck have you been? We're guaranteed to have them any time a game thread rolls around.
  18. Sounds about right, given how that series turned out.
  19. Standing O for Liebs, everyone! :clapping:
