  1. Same for me except I’d want to beat the Astros to eliminate another former division rival
  2. Have to say the White Sox are doing an impressive job of ruining their draft pick. 13-6 in their last 19 including 4-3 this week against the Yankees and Red Sox
  3. So in the last 6 games we will go 4-0 against Syndergaard, deGrom Foltywhatever and Nola while going 1-2 against whatever crappier pitchers started that I forgot already. Seriously that’s 3 of the 4 main NL Cy Young candidates (Scherzer being the other). In one week and we won them all.
  4. It’s really going to come down to how good Trubisky is. Feels like all the other pieces are in place to be successful. And actually even if Trubisky is meh I’m sure Nagy can gameplan around it and put together a competent enough offense to go with a dominating defense
  5. Cubs have 3 triples, 3 home runs and a single today. Who got the single? None other than Ichiro Bryant
  6. You say this with a 2 run lead in the 4th? lol
  7. Aren’t they currently 1.5 games into a wild card spot?
  8. With a win today the Cubs will have 4 consecutive .500+ seasons for the first time since 6 consecutive winning seasons from 1967-1972
  9. You guys sad you didn’t get Mack? Also how can anyone take any joy in Michigan’s football failings anymore? It’s been a decade of consistent failure
  10. It's entirely possible ND's defense is just freaking great, but Michigan just didn't look like they've changed much of anything from last year offensively except going shotgun a little more often. Kind of a weird game overall. Michigan fans seeing why Patterson actually transferred and it wasn't because he wanted to play in a bowl this year. He was going to be the 2nd string QB at Ole Miss. He's not that good. He didn’t look that bad to me. He was constantly under pressure and was on the run a lot. I thought he tucked it too early a few times, lost Michigan 3 points by taking a 17 yard sack, the INT was whatever but the fumble shouldn’t have happened. I hear that’s a problem he had last year. Anyways NDs defense might be stout who knows but it was really defensive mistakes that killed Michigan. Not able to contain winovich, penalties on 3rd downs, 3rd down conversions in general, didn’t matter if it was 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 18, just couldn’t get off the field. Oh well have several more shots to win “big games” or if they lose them all as usual cement themselves as a team that never ever wins any game of any importance
  11. I guess not...
  12. Not a strong showing by the Big Ten so far. Hope Michigan can look better
  13. So glad KB is back to give Bote a game off
  14. You say this like it's something they're not likely to be able to do. Of course they are. They just went 18-10 in August. I’m just a little anxious to see how the back end of this 23 in a row goes before I feel supremely confident about winning the division
  15. Agree..Theyve had some aggravating games and even a stretch here and there but somehow they managed to win 79 games and stay on top.. Cubs go 14 and 14 final 28 Cardinals need to go 17 and 10 Brewers need to go 17 and 9 Pretty confident they wont blow this Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk I’m not trying to raise a doom boner and I agree the Cubs are very likely to win the division but the Cardinals have just spent the last quarter of the season playing at a 111 win pace with a run differential that suggests they’ve played even better than that. While it’s likely they cool off, it’s not that impossible to see them continuing to play very well. Maybe not 21-6 like August but let’s say 19-8. That would require the Cubs to go 17-11 to win the division outright. I dunno I think it’s too early to start doing the “if the Cubs do this then the cardinals have to do” thing even though I just did it. If we finish this road trip 1 game up or more then I feel supremely confident with 16 of the last 19 games in Chicago. But this is going to be a really tough stretch immediately in front of us
  16. People are speculating that Trevathan might be included in the trade which...would suck. 2 1sts and Trevathan is too much for me unless we get a 2nd or maybe 3rd back. Trevathan is great but can’t stay healthy
  17. It's really only giving up 1 first rounder since Mack is a 1st rounder himself. At least that's the way I'm looking at it. A first rounder that you get right now too. There is some added value there
  18. Well that certainly is some news. Will suck not having 2 1sts but this is a move that is worth it. Wow
  19. They’ve scored 10, 9, 7 And 5 runs in games in the last week. And have averaged less than 3 runs per game in the last 4 Yeah I know that they were hitting well and I also realize that in this 4 game sample they faced Syndergaard and deGrom, but they also faced 2 garbage starters, the shitty Mets pen and some iffy Phillies relievers. This team is just so up and down at times offensively it seems like they can slip into a slump suddenly. .606 OPS in our last 4 games after having a .959 OPS in the 6 games before that. I guess it’s tough to take anything meaningful from a small sample like that though.
  20. We’re 8-3 in our last 11 games but...yeah it is
  21. 1-7 with RISP tonight and of course the one hit didn’t score a run.
  22. These games would stress me out a lot less if it didn’t feel like the 2 teams behind us win 80% of their games. There’s like no margin for error. Win tomorrow because we have a really tough one against Nola on Sunday.
  23. So is the offense slumping again? We’ve gotten a moderate amount of runs the last few games but they don’t look all that great out there and once again the hitting with RISP is abysmal
  24. That is shameful Vic. Teamwide disease with RISP
