Jed has 3 deals done but he's asked the other teams to hold off announcing because he's having too much fun watching Cubs fans implode in anger.

It doesn't track with everything we've been hearing. The Cubs are 28th in fWAR from SP since June 1st. He knows we need SP and while he won't completely destroy the farm system, a cost controlled TOR pitcher is well worth the prospect capital even if he pays more than he wants. It's a sellers market and the price is high...he's not going to cave until he sees whether the sellers go down on price. I won't panic, but I'll probably start getting antsy if nothing is done by like 4:30, even knowing that a lot of trades usually come down to the last minutes.

Yeah I used to be on the "too many lefties" stuff. At the end of the day unless they have extreme splits, talent is talent. Get the most talented starters. Almost all the best teams against LHP are in the AL anyways.

Don't see a ton of 3 team trades in MLB (I dont think) but this could be a situation where it might make sense. Cubs give prospects to another selling team, who trades major league players to SD, while the Cubs get Cease

Just waking up to the Suarez news. Sucks, I’m a little disappointed, though there are still bats that can help us. Like I’ve said, not our biggest hole to fill but I do think we need another bat for certain situations and the cost didn’t seem as high as I expected based on what reports were suggesting. not the end of the world though, excited to see how the day plays out. -

thank you. I dont understand where all this panic comes from or the belief that he sits on his hands during trade deadlines. Are people getting him mixed up with AKME?

I dunno managers really love the idea of taking complete days off for struggling players. No thinking about ABs, your lack of success, etc. Not a huge deal, but with a big lead and an injury plus the off day tomorrow it would have made sense to keep him out of the game imo.
